Tommy Drumm
Tommy Drumm (born 22 March 1955) is an Irish former sportsperson. He lived on Collins Avenue West. He attended (Primary) The School of the Holy Child, Larkhill, Whitehall, and (Secondary) St Aidan's Christian brothers School, Dublin 9. He played Gaelic football with his local club Whitehall Gaels, renamed Whitehall Colmcille's GAA and was a senior member of the Dublin county team from 1976 until 1984. Drumm captained Dublin to the All-Ireland All-Ireland (sometimes All-Island) refers to all of Ireland, as opposed to the separate jurisdictions of the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Whitehall Colmcille GAA
Whitehall Colmcille (Irish: ''Fionnbhrú Colmcille'' ) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based on Collins' Avenue in Dublin 9, Ireland. The Club has contributed in a big way to the success of various County Football teams and All Ireland titles producing many well known names. History Whitehall Gaels took over the lease Thorndale Tennis Club had with Dublin Corporation on Collins Avenue in 1966. Whitehall Gaels merged with Cumann Barra Colmcille in 1973 the objective being of strengthening the Hurling side of the Club, as Colmcille was basically a Hurling Club. Both clubs had senior officials linked to each other that made the amalgamation a smooth one. The Club has won Hurling and Football Championships since then. The 1983 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 97th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The championship began on 15 May 1983 and ended on 18 September 1983. Offaly entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were defeated by Dublin in the Leinster final. On 18 September 1983, Dublin won the championship following a 1-10 to 1-8 defeat of Galway in the All-Ireland final. This was their 21st All-Ireland title and their first in six championship seasons. Whitehall is a road and area in the City of Westminster, Central London. The road forms the first part of the A3212 road from Trafalgar Square to Chelsea. The Texaco Footballer of the Year was a Gaelic football award, created in 1958, that honoured the achievements of a footballer of outstanding excellence. The award was part of the Texaco Sportstars Awards, in which Irish sportspeople from all fields were honoured. The award was presented annually to the Gaelic footballer considered to have performed the best over the previous year in the Football Championship. Voting for the award was undertaken by a select group of journalists from television and the print media. The award itself, standing 14 inches high, was one of the most sought-after accolades in Irish sport. Jack O'Shea (born 19 November 1957 in Cahersiveen, County Kerry) is an Irish former sportsperson. He played Gaelic football at various times with his local clubs St Mary's in Kerry and Leixlip in Kildare. He was a member of the Kerry senior football team from 1976 until 1992. O'Shea is regarded as one of the greatest players of all-time. He is currently a media pundit with a column in the sports section of the Irish edition of ''The Sunday Times''. His son Aidan made his debut for the Kerry senior team in their successful 2009 National Football League campaign.
