Tomaselli Family
Tomaselli family is an old family of condottieri, condottiero and Feudalism, feudal lords from northern Italy, originally from Piacenza and then settled in Milan, Strigno and in the Province of Bergamo. Over the centuries, members of different branches of the family have been awarded knighthoods in various orders of chivalry. A branch of the family that settled in Austrian Empire, Austria still exists and produced many noted artists during the late 18th and 19th centuries. History The first document of the family dates back to the beginning of the 12th century. The founder of the family, Luigi Tomaselli, was decorated with the title of Knight in 1113 by the Margrave, Margravine Matilda of Tuscany after having distinguished himself in the battles against Henry IV, Holy Roman Emperor, who was an enemy of Pope Gregory VII, in 1092. Sforza Family
The House of Sforza () was a ruling family of Renaissance Italy, based in Milan. They acquired the Duchy of Milan following the extinction of the Visconti family in the mid-15th century, Sforza rule ending in Milan with the death of the last member of the family's main branch in 1535. History The first son of Muzio Attendolo Sforza, Francesco I Sforza, married Bianca Maria (1425–1468) in 1441. She was the daughter and only heir of the last Duke of Milan, ( Filippo Maria Visconti). Giuseppe Tomaselli
Giuseppe Tomaselli (29 January 1758 – 20 March 1836) was an Italian actor and operatic singer (tenor). Life Born in Rovereto, as a member of the prominent Tomaselli family, Giuseppe received a musical education in Milan with a focus on singing. In October 1781, he joined the court chapel of Hieronymus of Colloredo, Prince-Bishop of Salzburg. Soon he became acquainted with Leopold Mozart and his family. Between 1803 and 1807 he worked as a chamber singer. At the age of 30, Tomaselli married Theresia Gschwendter. After the death of his wife he married Antonia Honikel. With his second wife he had a daughter, Katharina and three sons, Carl, Franz and Ignaz. Between 1796 and 1798, together with Lorenz Hübner, he directed the Salzburger Landestheater. During this time he not only achieved success as a singer but also as a singing teacher. The Petersfriedhof or St. Peter's Cemetery is – together with the burial site at Nonnberg Abbey – the oldest cemetery in the Austrian city of Salzburg, located at the foot of the Festungsberg with Hohensalzburg Castle. Francis II, Holy Roman Emperor
Francis II (german: Franz II.; 12 February 1768 – 2 March 1835) was the last Holy Roman Emperor (from 1792 to 1806) and the founder and Emperor of the Austrian Empire, from 1804 to 1835.
