Tom Kavanagh
Tom Kavanagh (born 21 April 1970) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Melbourne and Fitzroy in the Victorian/Australian Football League (VFL/AFL). Kavanagh is the son of four-time VFL premiership player Brent Crosswell. Although Crosswell played more games for Carlton and North Melbourne, but it was Melbourne who drafted Kavanagh, under the Father-son rule. Castlemaine Football Club
The Castlemaine Football and Netball Club, nicknamed ''The Magpies'', is an Australian rules football and netball club based in Castlemaine, Victoria, Australia and is currently a member of the Bendigo Football League. The club is notable for several reasons. Formed in 1859, it is the second oldest documented football club in Australia after the Melbourne Football Club and it has produced many notable Australian rules footballers. 1989 VFL Season
The 1989 VFL season was the 93rd season of the Victorian Football League (VFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition and administrative body in Victoria and, by reason of it featuring clubs from New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia, the ''de facto'' highest level senior competition in Australia. The season featured fourteen clubs, ran from 31 March until 30 September, and comprised a 22-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top five clubs. North Melbourne Football Club
The North Melbourne Football Club, nicknamed the Kangaroos, is a professional Australian rules football club. The men's team competes in the Australian Football League (AFL), and the women's team in the AFL Women's (AFLW). The Kangaroos also field a reserves men's team in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Founded in the suburb of North Melbourne in 1869 and based at the Arden Street Oval, it is the 4th oldest club in the competition and one of the oldest surviving clubs in the world. Its original home at Arden Street continues to serve as its headquarters, training facilities and home ground for its women's side. Brent Crosswell
Brent Tasman Crosswell (born 8 August 1950) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Carlton Football Club, North Melbourne Football Club and Melbourne Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL). An articulate and outspoken individual, 'Tiger' Crosswell was renowned as one of the finest 'big game' players of his era and is one of a small group of VFL/AFL footballers to have won premierships with two clubs. He is recognized for his on-field achievements with Icon status in the Tasmanian Football Hall of Fame, as well as being named in the Tasmanian and North Melbourne Teams of the Century.
