Tom Conneely
Thomas Conneely (born 24 February 1959) is an Irish former hurler who played as a midfielder at senior level for the Offaly county team. Born in Banagher, County Offaly, Connelly first played competitive hurling in his youth. He made his senior debut for Offaly during the 1979-80 National League and subsequently broke onto the starting fifteen. During his career Conneely won one All-Ireland medal and two Leinster medals. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. At club level Conneely is a one-time Leinster medallist with St Rynagh's. In addition to this he also won three championship medals. Conneelly later played with St Gabriel's. Throughout his career Conneely made 16 championship appearances. He played his last game for Offaly during the 1986-87 National League. St Rynagh's GAA
St Rynagh's ( ga, Naomh Raghnach) is the name of two Gaelic Athletic Association sister clubs that encompass the towns of Cloghan and Banagher in County Offaly, in Ireland. The St Rynagh's Football Club is based in Cloghan and wear green and white hooped jerseys; the St Rynagh's Hurling Club is based in Banagher and wear blue and gold jerseys. Formed in 1961, to represent the parish of Cloghan and Banagher, the club gained almost immediate success - winning the senior hurling championship in 1965. The St Rynagh's Hurling Club went on to appear in three All-Ireland club hurling finals during the next 30 years. St Rynagh's has also supplied three of Offaly's four All-Ireland Hurling Championship winning captains, namely Padraig Horan, Martin Hanamy and Hubert Rigney. Loughgiel Shamrocks
Loughgiel Shamrocks GAC is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the village of Loughgiel/Loughguile in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. They are currently the only club in Ulster to have won an All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship, which they first won in 1983. They repeated the feat by defeating Coolderry from Offaly by 4-13 to 0-17 in the All Ireland Club Hurling Final on 17 March 2012. On Sunday 29 September 2013, they achieved their first four in a row of Antrim Senior Hurling Championships by beating Cushendall, in the first final to be staged outside Casement Park since 1990. Pat Cleary
Pat Cleary (born 15 January 1962) is an Irish retired hurler who played as a right corner-forward for the Offaly senior team. Cleary made his first appearance for the team during the 1981-82 National Hurling League and became a regular player over the course of the following decade. During that time he won one All-Ireland winner's medal, three Leinster winner's medals and an All-Star award. Seánie O'Leary
Seán O'Leary (25 February 1952 – 1 December 2021) was an Irish hurler who played as a left corner-forward at senior level for the Cork county team. Career Born in Youghal, County Cork, Munster, O'Leary first played competitive hurling whilst at school at St. Colman's College. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Cork minor team, before later joining the under-21 side. He made his senior debut during the 1971 championship. O'Leary went on to play a key part for Cork, and won four All-Ireland medals, nine Munster medals and four National Hurling League medals. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on three occasions. O'Leary was a member of the Munster inter-provincial team on a number of occasions, however, he ended his career without a Railway Cup medal. Kevin Hennessy
Kevin Hennessy (born 8 March 1961) is an Irish retired hurler who played as a left-corner forward for the Cork senior team. Born in Midleton, County Cork, Hennessy first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of 18 when he first linked up with the Cork minor team, before later lining out with the under-21 side. He made his senior debut in the 1982 championship. Hennessy went on to play a key part for over a decade, and won three All-Ireland medals and seven Munster medals. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on three occasions. Hennessy represented the Munster inter-provincial team in the early stages of his career, winning two Railway Cup medals. National Hurling League
The National Hurling League is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition featuring teams from Ireland and England. Founded in 1925 by the Gaelic Athletic Association, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation within the league system. The league has 35 teams divided into six divisions, with either five or six teams in each division. Promotion and relegation between these divisions is a central feature of the league. Although primarily a competition for Irish teams, teams from England – currently Lancashire GAA, Lancashire, London GAA, London and Warwickshire GAA, Warwickshire – also take part, while in the past New York GAA, New York also fielded a team for the latter stages of the league. Seir Kieran GAA
Seir Kieran is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in a parish and Electoral Division of the same name (population c.460). Seir Kieran takes its name from Saint Ciarán of Saighir, who founded the parish as a ''civitas'' (a monastic city) in the 5th century. The club's playing facilities are based in the village of Clareen in County Offaly, Ireland.
