Thomas B. Cahill (October 11, 1919 – October 29, 1992) was an American football player and coach who served as the head coach at the United States Military Academy from 1966 to 1973 and at Union College in Schenectady, New York from 1976 to 1979, compiling a career college football record of 51–59–3. During his tenure as head coach at Army, which coincided with the height of the Vietnam War, his teams beat Navy five times. Tom Cahill (Australian Politician)
Thomas James Cahill (12 February 1924 – 23 June 1983) was an Australian politician, affiliated with the Labor Party and elected as a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly. Biography The son of John Joseph Cahill, Premier of New South Wales from 1952 to 1959, and his wife Esme, he was born in Marrickville, New South Wales. He was educated at De La Salle College, Marrickville, and then became a bank officer, working with the Rural Bank for nineteen years. He served in the Second Australian Imperial Force, 31/51st Battalion, from 1942 to 1946 in New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. Cahill joined the Clemton Park branch of the Labor Party in 1953 and was elected to the Legislative Assembly as member for Cook's River at a December 1959 by-election triggered by the death of his father. Thomas H. Cahill (October 1868 – December 25, 1894) was an American professional baseball player who played from 1888 to 1894. He played one season in Major League Baseball and had a career batting average of .253 with 109 hits, 17 doubles, 7 triples, 3 home runs, 44 RBIs, and 38 stolen bases. He was of Irish descent. Early life Cahill was born in Fall River, Massachusetts, in October, 1868. His father, also named Thomas Cahill, was born in Ireland and worked as a laborer. Cahill's mother was also born in Ireland. Cahill attended both the College of the Holy Cross, and the University of Pennsylvania. At the University of Pennsylvania, Cahill studied medicine while playing professional baseball. Thomas Christopher Cahill (born 21 November 1986) is an English footballer who plays in Australia for National Premier Leagues Victoria side Heidelberg United FC. Career Early career Born in Leyland, Lancashire Cahill attended St Mary's High School in Leyland and Runshaw College, where he was a member of their Football Academy. He played in the youth team of West Lancashire Football League side Euxton Villa for several years. In July 2006 he signed for Northern Premier League side Matlock Town while studying for a law degree at Sheffield University. Thomas Quinn Cahill (March 29, 1940 – October 18, 2022) was an American scholar and writer. He was best known for ''The Hinges of History'' series, a prospective seven-volume series in which the author recounts formative moments in Western civilization. Early life Cahill was born in the Bronx on March 29, 1940. His father, Patrick, worked as an insurance executive; his mother, Margaret (Buckley), was a homemaker. Cahill attended Regis High School in Manhattan, where he studied ancient Greek and Latin. He continued his study of Greek and Latin literature, as well as medieval philosophy, scripture, and theology, at Fordham University. There he completed a Bachelor of Arts in classical literature and philosophy in 1964, before obtaining a pontifical degree in philosophy the following year as part of his studies to become a priest for the Jesuits. Thomas W. Cahill (December 25, 1864 — September 29, 1951) was one of the founding fathers of soccer in the United States, and is considered the most important administrator in U.S. Soccer before World War II. Cahill formed the United States Football Association in 1913, which later became the United States Soccer Federation. In 1916 he became the first coach of the United States men's national soccer team. Cahill was enshrined in the U.S. National Soccer Hall of Fame in 1950. Clarence Thomas (born June 23, 1948) is an American jurist who serves as an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. He was nominated by President George H. W. Bush to succeed Thurgood Marshall and has served since 1991. After Marshall, Thomas is the second African American to serve on the Court and its longest-serving member since Anthony Kennedy's retirement in 2018. Thomas was born in Pin Point, Georgia.
