Thomas Berry (1914–2009) was a Catholic priest of the Passionist order, cultural historian and ecotheologian. Thomas Berry, CP (November 9, 1914 – June 1, 2009) was a Catholic priest, cultural historian, and scholar of the world’s religions, especially Asian traditions. Later, as he studied Earth history and evolution, he called himself a “geologian.”   He rejected the label “theologian” or “ ecotheologian” as too narrow and not descriptive of his cultural studies in history of religions. He was drawn early on to respond to the growing ecological and climate crisis and proposed the need for aNew Story of evolution in 1978. Tom Berry (baseball)
Thomas Haney Berry (December 31, 1842 – June 6, 1915) was a professional baseball player who played for the Philadelphia Athletics in one game during the 1871 season. He had one hit in four at-bats in that game. Berry was a soldier in the Union Army from 1862 to 1865 during the American Civil War. He served in Company B of Sixteenth Regiment of the Pennsylvania Volunteers, Company A of the Thirty-Seventh Regiment of Pennsylvania Volunteers and Company A of the Nineteenth Regiment. Thomas Matthew Berry (April 23, 1879 – October 30, 1951) was the 14th Governor of South Dakota. Berry, a Democrat from Belvidere, South Dakota, served from 1933 to 1937. He is noted for defeating two incumbent Democratic United States senators in the state Democratic primary and then losing the seat to the Republicans in the general election. Biography Berry was born in Paddock, Holt County, Nebraska, and attended public school in O'Neill, Nebraska. He was married to Lorena McLain and they had four children. Career Berry moved to South Dakota in 1897. He homesteaded in Gregory County, moved to Todd County, and finally settled in Mellette County south of Belvidere. He built up a 30,000 acre (120 km2) ranch raising Hereford cattle and saddle horses. Joseph Thomas Wade Berry (17 July 1911 – 1 July 1993) was a rugby union player and administrator who appeared in 277 games for Leicester Tigers between 1932–1948, and three times for in 1939. He was President of the Rugby Football Union for the 1968–69 season, the first person from Leicester Tigers to hold the position and was also tour manager of England's first over-seas tour in 1963. Thomas Berry (born 1 May 2000) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for the Gold Coast Suns in the Australian Football League (AFL), having been initially drafted to the with the 36th draft pick in the 2018 AFL draft.
