Tom's Story
Degs and Gabba, formerly known as Tom's Story, is an indie instrumental rock trio based in Manila, Philippines. The band is composed of original members: Tom Naval on bass, Gabba Santiago on guitars, and Christer "Degs" de Guia on drums. The band independently released its self-titled album in 2016, and is currently managed by A Spur of the Moment Project, an independent record label. History The band started in 2010 during their senior years in high school (and at that time, the trio were friends since 2007), due to their musical influences such as Taking Back Sunday and Circa Survive. Although they were never played until in 2011, the trio started their first gig by playing Taking Back Sunday covers at a bar in Parañaque. Post-rock is a form of experimental rock characterized by a focus on exploring textures and timbre over traditional rock song structures, chords, or riffs. Post-rock artists are often instrumental, typically combining rock instrumentation with electronics. The genre emerged within the indie and underground music scene of the 1980s and early 1990s. Wanderland (commonly referred to as Wanderland Music and Arts Festival) is an annual outdoor music and arts festival held in the Philippines organized by Karpos Multimedia. It showcases international and local live music, and art installations. History Wanderland was founded in 2013 by Karpos Multimedia Inc. Pre-events Wanderband is Wanderland's annual battle of the local independent bands. The winner and runner-up are given the chance to play live at Wanderland Music and Arts Festival. Circa Survive is an American rock music, rock band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, that formed in 2004. The band, led and founded by Anthony Green (musician), Anthony Green, consisted of former members from This Day Forward and Taken. Circa Survive quickly made a name for themselves in the indie music scene in little over two years with their 2005 debut album, ''Juturna (album), Juturna'', and second album, ''On Letting Go'', released in 2007. Both albums were released on Equal Vision Records. Their third album, ''Blue Sky Noise'', was released via Atlantic Records in 2010. Taking Back Sunday is an American rock band from Long Island, New York. The band was formed by guitarist Eddie Reyes and bassist Jesse Lacey in 1999. The band's members currently are Adam Lazzara (lead vocals), John Nolan (lead guitar, keyboards, vocals), Shaun Cooper (bass guitar) and Mark O'Connell (drums), accompanied by Nathan Cogan (guitar) for their live performances. The band's former members include Lacey, Reyes, bass guitarist Matthew Rubano, and guitarist and vocalist Fred Mascherino. Lacey quit Taking Back Sunday in 1999 and formed the critically acclaimed rock band Brand New in 2000, with whom Taking Back Sunday would become embroiled in a highly publicized feud.
