Toby Olubi
Oluwatobiloba Oladapo I. A. Olusegun Olubi (born 24 September 1987) is a British sprinter and bobsledder. He competed in the Bobsleigh four-man event at the 2018 Winter Olympics. Prior to appearing at the Olympics, he won £12,000 on the television game show ''Deal or No Deal''. In May 2023, Olubi was named "Phantom", as one of the new Gladiators in the reboot of the television series of the same name broadcasting on BBC One from January 2024. Olusegun Olubi was born on 24 September 1987 in a council estate in Camberwell and attended Bacon's College, Saint Francis Xavier College, and Brunel University London, where he read economics and politics. White City Place is the name given to the collection of buildings formerly known as BBC Media Village (more commonly simply as White City or W12 within the BBC). White City Place is a collection of six buildings occupying a 17-acre site off Wood Lane, White City in West London (W12), bordered by South Africa Road, Dorando Close and the A40 Westway. The site is a short distance along Wood Lane from the former BBC Television Centre. All formerly properties of the BBC, only two buildings – Broadcast Centre and the Lighthouse – are currently occupied by BBC staff. Ben Simons (born 13 November 1986) is a British bobsleigher and former athlete. He qualified for the 2014 Winter Olympics in the 4-man discipline as part of Great Britain 2 team, behind pilot Lamin Deen, performing as the brakeman. Biography Simons was born in 1986 in Broseley, England. As a boy, he was a talented athlete, and he represented Wenlock Olympians at the age of eight. Simons progressed to competitive athletics, joining Telford Athletics club where he initially specialised in the long jump and triple jump. In 2008 he was accepted into Cardiff Metropolitan University, University of Wales Institute, Cardiff (UWIC) and joined the University's athletics club. While at Cardiff, he began to concentrate more on his sprinting competing in the 60m and 100m events. He achieved some success as a sprinter, becoming Welsh 60m champion. Lamin Deen
Lamin Deen (born 17 June 1981) is a British bobsleigh pilot and Grenadier Guardsman. He qualified for the 2014 Winter Olympics in both the 2-man (in which he raced with John Baines) and 4-man disciplines. Deen was born in London into a family which originally hailed from Sierra Leone. He moved to Manchester at the age of nine. He grew up in the city's Moss Side and Withington areas and was a pupil at Burnage High School before joining the Grenadier Guards, serving in Northern Ireland, Bosnia and Kosovo. He represented the British Army in athletics, boxing and basketball before competing in bobsleigh.
