Toa Payoh Bus Interchange
Toa Payoh Bus Interchange is located in Toa Payoh, Singapore. It is the first air-conditioned bus interchange in the country, which was completed in 2002 and officially opened by the then Minister for Transport, Yeo Cheow Tong, on 19 May that year. It has a direct connection from the bus interchange to the Toa Payoh MRT station on the North South line. HDB Hub
HDB Hub is the headquarters of the Housing and Development Board. Is is located on Lorong 6 Toa Payoh in Toa Payoh, Singapore next to Toa Payoh MRT station. History The HDB Hub opened on 10 June 2002 as the headquarters of the Housing and Development Board, with all public service counters in the board's former headquarters in Bukit Merah being closed on 8 June. The building cost $380 million to complete. A showroom, named Habitat Forum, was launched in the hub on 24 October 2002. The building is connected to the Toa Payoh Bus Interchange. The hub includes a four-storey shopping mall, named Toa Payoh Central, and a 33-storey office tower. Bus Contracting Model Of Singapore
The Bus Contracting Model (BCM), formerly known as the Government Contracting Model, is a contracting model introduced by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) in 2014 for public buses in Singapore, implemented in 2016. The BCM is based on the Transperth model in Perth, Western Australia with quality incentive elements from London Buses. Under the BCM, local and overseas bus operators bid for contracts to operate public bus services on behalf of LTA. HardwareZone is an IT-oriented Internet portal based in Singapore. It is operated by Hardware Zone Private Limited, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of SPH Media Trust. Jurong East MRT Station
Jurong East MRT station is an elevated Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) interchange station on the North South (NSL) (which terminates at this station) and East West (EWL) lines in Jurong East, Singapore, operated by SMRT Trains. It is located at the heart of Jurong Lake District, within the vicinity of JCube, Jem, Westgate, IMM, Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and Jurong East Bus Interchange. Hougang MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the North East line (NEL) in the Hougang planning area in Singapore. Located within the Hougang Town Centre, the station is directly connected to Hougang Central Bus Interchange and sits underneath that bus interchange. Toa Payoh Town Park
Toa Payoh Town Park is located at the junction of Lorong 2 Toa Payoh and Lorong 6 Toa Payoh. Park size is 4.8 hectares. History The park, previously known as Toa Payoh Town Garden, was completed in 1973. Its main features are an observation tower and a landscaped pond with willowing trees. In the seventies, the town garden was a favored venue for outdoor wedding photography. The observation tower is now not open to the public and there has been no plans announced by the National Parks Board to reopen it (as of 1 September 2011). There is a fountain pool installed around the tower. The Toa Payoh Town Garden was partially closed in 1999 to make way for a temporary bus interchange. North South MRT Line
The North-South line (NSL) is a high-capacity Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) line in Singapore, operated by SMRT Corporation. Coloured red on the Singapore rail map, the line is long and serves 27 stations, 11 of which, between the Bishan and Marina South Pier stations, are underground.
