''To levende og en død '' is a 1937 Norwegian thriller film directed by Gyda Christensen and Tancred Ibsen and starring Hans Jacob Nilsen, Unni Torkildsen and Jan Vaage. It is based on the 1931 novel '' To levende og en død'' by Sigurd Christiansen. A post office worker is left wrestling with his conscience following a robbery at his workplace. Gyda Christensen
Gyda Martha Kristine Christensen (née Andersen; 21 May 1872 – 20 August 1964) was a Norwegian actress, dancer, choreographer and managing director. Biography Christensen was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway. She was the only child of Ole Andersen and Cathrine Saabye. She received music and singing lessons during adolescence. She was part of the ensemble at Christiania Theatre from 1894 to 1899 and again from 1920 to 1928, and at Nationaltheatret from 1899 to 1919. She played a number of major roles, most often in the light genre. She was engaged as dance and artistic director at Det Nye Teater from 1928 to 1945. From 1936 to 1939 she was the artistic director at Nationaltheatret. In 1909 she became the managing director for the Nationaltheatret ballet school. Alfred Solaas
Alfred Solaas (April 15, 1912 – November 23, 1968) was a Norwegian actor, film director, and theater director. He was engaged for many years at the Oslo New Theater. Career Solaas debuted in 1934 at the Carl Johan Theater. After that, he was engaged with the Central Theater from 1935 to 1939 and with the Oslo New Theater from 1940 to 1960, followed by freelance work. At the Central Theater his appearances included roles in ''The Threepenny Opera'' (Norwegian title: ''Tolvskillingsoperaen'') in 1938 and in Finn Bo's revue ''Takk for sist'' (Nice to See You Again), and he received praise for his role as Arv in Ludvig Holberg's ''Jean de France''. Signe Ramberg (November 4, 1900 – January 15, 1987) was a Norwegian actress. Life Signe Ramberg was born in Eidanger, Norway. Marie Hedemark
Marie "Maja" Hedemark (March 24, 1873 – August 8, 1959) was a Norwegian actress. Family Hedemark was the daughter of the teacher Emil Bernhard Olsen (1842–1897) and Severine Mathilde Heidenstrøm. She was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway. She married the actor Hans Ingi Hedemark on December 23, 1905. Career Hedemark made her debut at the Fahlstrøm Theater in 1899 under the name ''Marie Heiden'', a name derived from her mother's maiden name. She was associated with that theater until it closed in 1911. She was employed at the Central Theater from 1911 until around 1942. Hedemark made her film debut in 1926 in '' Den nye lensmannen''. Kolbjørn Brenda
Kolbjørn Brenda (March 9, 1914 – January 15, 1988) was a Norwegian actor. Brenda debuted in 1936 at the Søilen Theater in Oslo and was engaged there until 1939. He performed for eight years at the Falkberget Theater and two years at the Rogaland Theater, and from 1951 onward his artistic versatility made him a central figure in the ensemble at the National Traveling Theater. Among others roles, he played Jeppe in ''Erasmus Montanus'', seven roles in '' Peer Gynt'' in the same performance, and Dr. Onsø in Nils Kjær's ''Det lykkelige valg'' (The Happy Election). Knut Jacobsen (actor)
Knut Jacobsen (March 19, 1910 – September 18, 1971) was a Norwegian actor and costume designer. As a student at the National Theater in Oslo, he studied with Egil Eide, and he took singing lessons with the well-known singing teacher Arne van Erpekum Sem and dance lessons with Inga Jacobi. Jacobsen debuted in 1932 at the National Theater in Henrik Ibsen's play ''An Enemy of the People'', which was staged as Egil Eide's anniversary performance. He then also worked at the Oslo New Theater and the Søilen Theater. After a few years in Oslo, he moved to Trondheim in 1937 and started performing at the Trøndelag Theater, where he quickly became one of the theatre's driving forces. For fifteen years he was the costume director at the Trøndelag Theater in addition to performing on stage as an actor and singer. Einar Vaage
Einar Vaage (March 1, 1889 – June 11, 1973) was a Norwegian actor. Vaage was active in Oslo from 1921 onward, where he was engaged with the Central Theater (from 1925 to 1931) and the Oslo New Theater. The comedy roles that Vaage played include the clerk Styver in Henrik Ibsen's play '' Love's Comedy''. Vaage appeared in 49 Norwegian films. He played bit roles in most of them. Waage debuted in the silent film '' Madame besøker Oslo'' in 1927, and he played one of the lead roles in '' Sangen om Rondane'' in 1934, which was one of the first sound films in Norway. He is probably best remembered for his portrayal of Judge Nicolai Bals in '' Tante Pose'' (1940). Vaage's last film role was in the 1964 comedy '' Husmorfilmen høsten 1964''.
