Tisvildeleje
Tisvildeleje is the village and coastal part of the area known as Tisvilde located on the north coast of the island Zealand (Sjælland) in Denmark 60 km/40miles north of Copenhagen in Region Hovedstaden. To the West, Tisvildeleje is bordered by the protected plantation of Tisvilde Hegn egn=fence which is Denmark’s fifth largest forest. The beaches of Tisvildeleje, are known for their white sands and soft dunes. The beach uses large boulders as rock armour and groynes for sea defense in most places. A sea wall also protects a stretch of the coast. Etymology The name "Tisvilde" is derived from "Ti's vælde", meaning ''a place dedicated to the God Tyr''. Where the church of Tibirke Kirke is situated nowadays, there was once a prehistoric “vi” meaning a holy place or place of sacrifice. In prehistoric times, humans were sacrificed here. Tibirke
Tibirke is a locality in Gribskov Municipality located between Tisvilde and Tisvildeleje to the north, Tisvilde Hegn to the west and Arresø to the south, approximately 60 kilometres north of Copenhagen, Denmark. It includes the protected area Tibirke Bakker (hills), Tibirke Lunde (grove), Tibirke Sand (sand) and the village Tibirke. Location Tibirke Sand has an area of two square kilometres. It is bounded by Frederiksværksvej and Tisvilde Hegn to the north, Arresø to the east and south and by the municipal border with Halsnæs Municipality to the west. History Ancient history Remains of two ancient roads at Tibirke Ellemose show evidence of early human activity in the area. One is from 2,800 BC, making it Denmark's oldest known road construction. Gribskov Municipality
Gribskov Kommune is a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in Region Hovedstaden ("Capital Region"). The municipality covers an area of 278 km², and has a total population of 40,850 (1 April 2014). Liseleje
Liseleje is a former fishing village and popular tourist resort in Halsnæs Municipality, North Zealand, some 60 kilometres northwest of Copenhagen, Denmark. The original village is surrounded by extensive areas of summerhouses. It has merged with neighbouring Asserbo, forming an urban area with a combined population of 2,507 (1 January 2022). Geography Liseleje is located 7 km north of Frederiksværk, 70 km from Copenhagen, 50 km from Roskilde, 44 km from Helsingør and 27 km from Hillerød. Liseleje Plantage, a wooded area planted in the late 19th century to combat drifting sand, is located to the east of the town. Niels Henrik David Bohr (; 7 October 1885 – 18 November 1962) was a Danish physicist who made foundational contributions to understanding atomic structure and quantum theory, for which he received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1922.
