Tirón River
The Tirón is a river in central-northern Spain in the provinces La Rioja, Burgos and Castile and León. Its length is 65 kilometres. Its source is in Sierra de la Demanda. The Tirón's longest tributary is the Oja, and it flows into the Ebro north east of Haro. Cihuri is a village in the province and autonomous community of La Rioja, Spain. The municipality covers an area of and as of 2011 had a population of 223 people. History In the year 947 the Spanish count Fernán González, donated to the monastery of San Millán de la Cogolla, a monastery which was dedicate to San Juan Bautista located in ''Zufiuri'', After a short period the same count gave the title of villa to this village. This caused some conflicts between the inhabitants of the villa and the friars. Due to that, the villa became to rename ''Cihuri de San Millán''. In the middle of the 11th century, King Fernando I de Castilla, confirmed any assignment of Fernan Gonzalez to San Millán and broad with the donation of lands, vineyards, orchards, meadows, fruit trees and Cihuri mills. La Rioja (Spain)
La Rioja () is an autonomous community and province in Spain, in the north of the Iberian Peninsula. Its capital is Logroño. Other cities and towns in the province include Calahorra, Arnedo, Alfaro, Haro, Santo Domingo de la Calzada, and Nájera. Sierra De La Demanda
Sierra de la Demanda is a mountain sub-range situated in the northern Iberian Peninsula. The Sierra de la Demanda area provides the habitat for ''Lissotriton helveticus punctillatus'' (Schmidtler 1970), a subspecies of the palmate newt. Geography The Sierra de la Demanda is part of the western section of the larger Sistema Ibérico. Haro, La Rioja
Haro () is a town and municipality in the northwest of La Rioja province in northern Spain. It produces red wine, and hosts the annual Haro Wine Festival. Its architectural heritage includes the plateresque main entrance of the Church of Santo Tomás, the work of Felipe Vigarny, numerous palaces, and the old town, which was declared a Historic-Artistic Site in 1975. Haro was the first town in Spain to have electric street lighting.
