Tirthankar Sarkar
Tirthankar Sarkar (born 1 July 1993 in Kolkata, West Bengal) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Diamond Harbour FC in the Calcutta Football League. Career Early career Tirthankar is the product of Mohun Bagan SAIL Football Academy, Durgapur. Tirthankar was part of the Academy team that participated in the Manchester United Premier Cup and played in the final round held at Manchester. He also went to 3 overseas tours for Mohun Bagan SAIL Football Academy, to Singapore, Thailand and England. After passing out from Mohun Bagan SAIL Football Academy, Tirthankar played for Salgaocar 2009-2010. Mohun Bagan
Mohun Bagan Athletic Club is an Indian professional sports club based in Kolkata, West Bengal. Founded in 1889, its football section is one of the oldest in India and Asia. The club is most notable for its victory over East Yorkshire Regiment in the 1911 IFA Shield final. This victory made Mohun Bagan the first all-Indian side to win a championship over a British side and was a major moment during India's push for independence. Sporting Clube de Goa, simply known as Sporting Goa (also known by its abbreviation SCG), is an Indian professional football club based in Panaji, in the Indian state of Goa, that competes in Goa Professional League. I-League
The I-League (known as Hero I-League for sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp) is the second-tier men's professional football competition of the Indian football league system. It is currently contested by 12 clubs across the country with the winners getting promotion to play in the premier division, the Indian Super League. The competition was founded in 2007 as the successor to the National Football League, with the first season starting in November 2007. The league was launched as India's first ever top-tier professional football league with the aim to increase the player pool for the India national team.
