"Tiotusen röda rosor" is a song written by Thore Skogman. Recorded by Jan Høiland, it was released as a 1967 single (Polydor NH59747), and became a Svensktoppen hit charting for six weeks between 17 March-21 April 1968, which included the song topping the chart. The song has also been recorded by dansbands like Curt Haagers (on 1983 album '' Guld och gröna skogar''). and Vikingarna (1988, acting as a B-side for the single '' Tredje gången gillt'') In 1995, a heavy metal version was recorded by Black-Ingvars on the album " Earcandy Six". At Dansbandskampen 2008 the song was performed by Kindbergs. However, not live over the SVT broadcasting, as the band had been knocked out at the previous moment "Dansbandsklassikern". Instead, their version was recorded at Aftonbladet's official album '' Dansafton'', released in February 2009, consisting of music from Dansbandskampen 2008. Jan Høiland (6 February 1939, Stavanger, Norway – 7 June 2017, Sweden) was a Norwegian singer, who lived for many years in Harstad. The song "Tiotusen röda rosor" by Thore Skogman was Høiland's biggest hit. He scored several VG lista, chart successes in Norway. Accompanied by Finn Våland on piano, he made his debut at Cafe Inger in Stavanger in 1957, followed by his record debut "Det vil komme av seg selv"/"Dormi-dormi-dormi" (1958), on Columbia Records, Columbia. Dansbandskampen 2008
Dansbandskampen is a television show established by Peter Settman and his production company Baluba. Peter Settman is also the show host. The show is broadcast over Sveriges Television, with season 1 airing October–December 2008. In 2008, five bands participated each week. Each week consisted of one moment where the bands were free to perform a pop or rock song, followed up by the second moment, ''Dansbandsklassikern'' ("The dansband classic"), where a famous dansband song was performed, chosen by drawing. The finalist bands are given an own, new own-produced song, followed up by the two remaining bands performing their own version of a song. There are discussions of spreading the concept outside Sweden, with a disco/folk music version in Poland and a country music version in the United States. Anne-Lie Rydé
Anne-Lie Rydé (born 17 October 1956 in Stockholm) is a Swedish pop and rock singer. Rydé grew up on Lidingö, but moved to Gothenburg in 1976. There she played with the Gothenburg-based band Extra from 1978 to 1983. She moved back to Stockholm in 1983 and broke through as a solo artist that year with the eponymous album "Anne-Lie Rydé." Her first hit was ''"Segla på ett moln"'' (Sail On a Cloud), written by Per Gessle. Anne-Lie Rydé was visually inspired by Punk and Nina Hagen, but musically she played rock. She wrote a number of songs herself.
