Tintorera
''Tintorera'' is a 1977 Mexican-British horror film directed by René Cardona Jr. and starring Susan George, Hugo Stiglitz, Fiona Lewis and Andrés García. It is based on the novel of the same name by oceanographer Ramón Bravo, who studied the species of shark known as 'tintorera' (a shark) and discovered the sleeping sharks of Isla Mujeres. The film, along with many monster movies of the 1970s and 1980s, is very similar to ''Jaws''. It is also known by the alternative title ''Tintorera: Killer Shark''. Quentin Tarantino paid tribute to this movie at the eighth Morelia International Film Festival, showing a copy from his private collection. Plot Steven a U.S.-born Mexican businessman, arrives in a Mexican resort village on a yacht anchored offshore. Hugo Stiglitz
Hugo Stiglitz López, better known simply as Hugo Stiglitz, (born August 28, 1940, in Mexico City) is a Mexican actor. Stiglitz is perhaps most well known for his film roles in the 1970s and 1980s in Mexico in such horror films as '' Tintorera'' and '' Night of a 1000 Cats''. He also filmed several movies in Hollywood (''Under the Volcano'') and Italy (''Nightmare City''). Quentin Tarantino paid a tribute to him by naming a character "Hugo Stiglitz" (played by actor Til Schweiger) in the film ''Inglourious Basterds''. Andrés García
Andrés García (born May 24, 1941) is a Dominican-born Mexican actor. He has formerly served as a scuba diving instructor in Acapulco. Career García was born and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He is the son of Spanish exiles from the Spanish Civil War who received refuge in the country during the regime of Rafael Leónidas Trujillo. Ramón Bravo (21 October 1925 – 21 February 1998) was a Mexican diver, photographer and underwater filmmaker. Bravo was the person who made the phenomenon of ''Sleeping sharks'' known to the world. Biography Bravo was born in Piedras Negras, Coahuila in northern Mexico from his parents Juan Bravo, a railroader, and María del Rosario Prieto.
