David Roach (saxophonist)
David Roach (born 1955, Darlington, Co. Durham, England) is a British saxophonist who released a solo single, "Emotional Jungle" in 1984. His album, ''I Love Sax'' reached #73 in the UK Albums Chart in April that year. As a Coda-Landscape recording artist in the 1980s David made 2 albums 'Running with the River ' and 'The Talking City'. He has played soprano and alto saxophone for the Michael Nyman Band since 1985, making his debut on '' The Kiss and Other Movements'' and appearing on nearly every album since. Prior to that he was musical director for Billy Ocean and a founding member of the Myrha Saxophone Quartet. David played oboe and saxophone for Frank Sinatra in his European tours of the early 1990s. ''Tinsel Town'' is a television show, television drama co-produced by BBC Scotland and Raindog/Deep Indigo Productions. It ran for two series, the debuting on BBC Two in 2000 and the second airing on BBC Choice the following year. Developed by Raindog, the series was created by Robbie Allen, Stuart Davids and Martin McCardie. Linx were a British soul/Brit funk band (music), band consisting of David Grant (singer), David Grant (lead vocals), Bob Carter (keyboard instrument, keyboards), Andy Duncan (drums), Canute Edwards (guitar), Peter Martin (bass guitar, bass) (aka Sketch) and Junior Giscombe (backing vocals). Jan and Dean was an American rock duo consisting of William Jan Berry (April 3, 1941 – March 26, 2004) and Dean Ormsby Torrence (born March 10, 1940). In the early 1960s, they were pioneers of the California Sound and vocal surf music styles popularized by the Beach Boys. Among their most successful songs was 1963's " Surf City", the first surf song ever to reach the #1 spot. Their other charting top 10 singles were " Drag City" (1963), "Dead Man's Curve" (1964; inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2008), and "The Little Old Lady from Pasadena" (1964).
