Timycen Maruma
Timycen Maruma (born 19 April 1988) is a Zimbabwean international cricketer. Beginning his cricketing career as a leg-spinner, he shifted his role to an all-rounder. In 2008, he scored his maiden first-class half-century (71) against a strong Pakistani representative team. Maruma had his best first-class season to date in 2007 when he teamed up with fellow spinner Prosper Utseya to help Easterns province lift the Logan Cup. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut against South Africa in 2007. He went on to make his Test debut as an opening batsman for Zimbabwe against Bangladesh in 2013. In September 2018, he was named in Zimbabwe's squad for the 2018 Africa T20 Cup tournament. He was the leading run-scorer in the 2018–19 Logan Cup, with 409 runs in six matches. Harare
Harare (; formerly Salisbury ) is the capital and most populous city of Zimbabwe. The city proper has an area of 940 km2 (371 mi2) and a population of 2.12 million in the 2012 census and an estimated 3.12 million in its metropolitan area in 2019. 2018 Africa T20 Cup
The 2018 Africa T20 Cup was the fourth and final edition of the Africa T20 Cup, a Twenty20 cricket tournament. It was held in South Africa in September 2018, as a curtain-raiser to the 2018–19 South African domestic season. Provincial side KwaZulu-Natal Inland were the defending champions. Organised by Cricket South Africa, the tournament was played between twenty teams. Sixteen of these teams had participated in previous years – thirteen South African provincial teams, national representative sides of Kenya, Namibia and Zimbabwe – and they were joined by South African teams Limpopo and Mpumalanga along with Nigeria and Uganda. Manicaland Cricketers
Manicaland is a province in eastern Zimbabwe. After Harare Province, it is the country's second-most populous province, with a population of 2.037 million, as of the 2022 census. After Harare and Bulawayo provinces, it is Zimbabwe's third-most densely populated province. Manicaland was one of five original provinces established in Southern Rhodesia in the early colonial period. 2020–21 Logan Cup
The 2020–21 Logan Cup was the 27th edition of the Logan Cup, a first-class cricket competition in Zimbabwe, which started on 9 December 2020. After originally scheduled to start on 3 December 2020, the tournament was moved back a week to allow time to setup a bio-secure bubble. Five teams took part in the competition, including the Southern Rocks, who last played in the 2013–14 tournament. There was no defending champion, after the previous tournament was voided due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Four matches were played during December 2020. However, on 3 January 2021, Zimbabwe Cricket halted all cricket in the country following a rise in COVID-19 cases. In mid-March 2021, it was reported that the tournament would resume later that month, with the next round of matches starting on 18 March 2021. Mountaineers Cricket Team
The Mountaineers is one of five cricket Zimbabwean cricket franchises. They are a first-class cricket team, based in the Manicaland and Mashonaland East area. They play their home matches at Mutare Sports Club in Mutare. Franchise History Following the decline of the standards of cricket in Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe Cricket decided to use a new set of teams for all the first-class, List A and Twenty20 formats of the domestic game. A total of 5 franchises were named, and the Mountaineers team was based in Manicaland. 2009-10 Logan Cup On their debut in this tournament, Mountaineers finished in third place in the group, with three wins from twelve games. 2019–20 Bangladesh Tri-Nation Series
The 2019–20 Bangladesh Tri-Nation Series was a cricket tournament that took place in September 2019. It was a tri-nation series between Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe with all the matches played as Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). Zimbabwe lost their first three matches of the series, therefore, Bangladesh and Afghanistan progressed to the final. No play was possible in the final due to rain, therefore Bangladesh and Afghanistan shared the trophy. 2018–19 Logan Cup
The 2018–19 Logan Cup was the 25th edition of the Logan Cup, a first-class cricket competition in Zimbabwe, that started on 3 December 2018. The tournament featured four teams, instead of the five that took part in the previous edition, with the Rising Stars being disbanded. The other change to the 2018–19 tournament was that it was being played across six rounds, instead of ten, as per previous years. Mountaineers were the defending champions. In January 2019, the matches in the third round of fixtures were both called off, following fuel protests taking place in the country. In February 2019, Mountaineers retained their title, with a match left to play, after they beat Mashonaland Eagles by ten wickets. It was their third consecutive title. Logan Cup
The Logan Cup is the premier domestic first-class cricket competition in Zimbabwe. It is named after James Douglas Logan. History The first recorded cricket match in what was known at the time as Rhodesia was played in August 1890 near Fort Victoria. Within the next ten years, matches were played with more regularity and the most significant match was between teams representing Salisbury and Bulawayo. In 1903, James Douglas Logan presented Rhodesia's cricket teams with a cup to compete for, which was named the Logan Cup after him. At first-class level, Rhodesia entered a team in the South African Currie Cup in 1904–05, and then for most South African seasons from 1929–30 until 1978–79.
