Tim Campbell (activist)
Tim Campbell (1939-2015) was a gay activist and newspaper publisher. Campbell was born in Leavenworth, Kansas and grew up in Texas. He earned his master's degree in French linguistics from the University of Texas and moved to teach at the University of Minnesota in 1972. In Minnesota, he reported for a short-lived newspaper, Positively Gay' and went on to foun''GLC Voice'' a newspaper from the Twin Cities gay and lesbian community which ran from 1979 to 1992. ''GLC Voice'' was distributed freely on college campuses, in gay bars, bookstores, and on the streets. Campbell was well known in Minnesota as a self-appointed spokesman for the gay community and often employed confrontational and spectacle tactics in his activism. Tim Campbell (born 27 September 1975) is an Australian television and stage actor and singer, best known for playing the character of Dan Baker (Home and Away), Dan Baker in the soap opera ''Home and Away'' between 2004 and 2008. In 2007, he came third Dancing with the Stars (Australian season 6), series 6 of ''Dancing with the Stars (Australian TV series), Dancing with the Stars''. Career Television In 1993, Campbell appeared in two episodes of ''Home and Away'' as Brad. Timothy Campbell is an English businessman best known as the winner of the first series of the British version of ''The Apprentice'', a BBC TV reality show in which contestants then battled to win a £100,000-a-year job working for businessman Alan Sugar. Campbell, a Middlesex University graduate in psychology, worked as a Senior Planner within the Strategy and Service Development (formally Marketing and Planning) directorate of London Underground before applying to appear on the show. ''The Apprentice'' Campbell appeared as a contestant in series 1 of ''The Apprentice'' in February 2005 and was hired by Sir Alan Sugar in the final episode, screened in May 2005.
