Timor Leste Solidarity Medal
The Timor-Leste Solidarity Medal ( pt, Medalha Solidariedade de Timor-Leste) is a state decoration of East Timor awarded to international security forces for their contribution to stability and peace operations in East Timor during the INTERFET operation, and following the 2006 East Timorese crisis. Criteria Personnel may be awarded the medal if they meet personnel and time qualifications. Personnel eligible are military or police personnel who have served on a mandated mission assisting with peace and stability operations. Military or Police personnel may also be eligible if they were posted to a recognised bilateral support mission to East Timor. Personnel must have served a minimum of 180 continuous or accrued days of service in East Timor from 1 May 2006. Personnel may also be nominated who served a minimum of 120 days from 1 May 2006, or who served with a start date in May or June 2006 for a period at least 90 days. Michael Slater (general)
Major General Michael David "Mick" Slater, (born 8 July 1958) is a retired senior officer of the Australian Army, who served as Commander Forces Command from November 2011 until his retirement in January 2015. Early life Slater was born in Brisbane, Queensland, on 8 July 1958 to Harold Leslie Slater and Shirly Florence (née Butler). Educated at St Joseph's College, Gregory Terrace, Slater studied surveying at the Queensland University of Technology before joining the Australian Army in 1978, where he graduated from the Officer Cadet School, Portsea. Lieutenant General Simon Andrew Stuart, is a senior officer of the Australian Army who has served as the Chief of Army since July 2022. He was commissioned into the Royal Australian Infantry Corps from the Royal Military College, Duntroon in 1990. He has commanded the 8th/9th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (2008–10), Joint Task Force 631 (2010) and Combined Team Uruzgan (2012–13), and deployed to East Timor as part of Operations Warden, Tanager and Astute and to Afghanistan and the Sinai Peninsula. Vice Admiral Stuart Campbell Mayer, (born 1965) is a retired senior officer of the Royal Australian Navy. He joined the navy via the Royal Australian Naval College at HMAS Creswell in 1984 and qualified as a Principal Warfare Officer in 1994.
