Time's Champion
''Time's Champion'' is a work of '' Doctor Who'' fan fiction, written by Chris McKeon on the basis of an original novel outline by Craig Hinton, and incorporating fragments of text written by Hinton before his death. It features the Sixth Doctor, Melanie Bush and Sergeant Benton, and is an exploration both of the origins of the Valeyard and the concept of the Doctor's role as "Time's Champion" in the Virgin New Adventures. It also features plot elements from Hinton's earlier book ''The Quantum Archangel''. It was published in paperback form in 2008, as a charity venture in aid of the British Heart Foundation. The BBC, who hold the copyright in ''Doctor Who'' and had rejected Hinton's original proposal in 2004, were not involved. Craig Hinton
Craig Paul Alexander Hinton (7 May 1964 – 3 December 2006) was a British writer best known for his work on various spin-offs from the BBC Television series '' Doctor Who''. He also wrote articles for various science fiction magazines, and was the Coordinator of the Doctor Who Appreciation Society. He most recently lived in London, where he taught mathematics. Hinton was found dead in his home on 3 December 2006. The cause of death was given as heart attack. Work Hinton first became known for his articles about various science fiction television programmes, including ''Doctor Who'' and '' Star Trek''. These brought him to the attention of the editor of Marvel UK's '' Doctor Who Magazine'', who offered him the role of reviewing merchandise for the magazine's ''Shelf Life'' section. Leela (Doctor Who)
Leela is a fictional character played by Louise Jameson in the long-running British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. She was a companion of the Fourth Doctor and a regular in the programme from 1977 to 1978. Writer Chris Boucher named her after the Palestinian hijacker Leila Khaled. Leela appeared in nine stories (40 episodes). Appearances Television Leela was the daughter of Sole. She first appears in the 1977 serial '' The Face of Evil''. She is a warrior of the savage Sevateem tribe, who were amongst the descendants of the crew of an Earth starship from the Mordee Expedition that crash-landed on an unnamed planet in the far future. The Sirens Of Time
''The Sirens of Time'' is a 1999 audio drama based on the long-running British science fiction television series '' Doctor Who''. It was the first Big Finish Productions audio drama based on the series and became the first in the company's '' Main Range''. The story was written and directed by Nicholas Briggs, and stars Peter Davison, Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy, who reprise their roles as three incarnations of the Doctor. Katarina is a fictional character played by Adrienne Hill in the long-running British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. She is a companion of the First Doctor. Katarina appeared in the programme from November to December 1965, in five episodes over two stories. For 35 years, none of the episodes to feature her existed in the BBC archives until January 2004 when the second episode of the 12-part serial The Daleks' Master Plan was found. Adric is a fictional character played by Matthew Waterhouse in the long-running British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. He was a young native of the planet Alzarius, which exists in the parallel universe of E-Space.
