Tim Kapucian
Tim L. Kapucian (born August 2, 1957) is an American politician who served as a member of the Iowa Senate from the Iowa Senate, District 38, 38th district. A Republican Party (United States), Republican, he served from 2009 to 2021. Early life and education Kapucian was born in Keystone, Iowa. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in animal science from Iowa State University. Career A farmer, he is the past president of the Iowa Pork Producers. Kapucian was Iowa Senate elections, 2008, elected in 2008 to the Iowa Senate, District 20, 20th district with 15,527 votes, defeating Iowa Democratic Party, Democratic opponent Randy Braden. During his final session in the Senate, Kapucian served as chair of the Transportation Committee. He was also a member of the Statewide Interoperable Communications System Board. John Putney
John Putney (born March 6, 1944) was the Iowa State Senator from the 20th District and whip (politics)#United States, minority whip. A Republican Party of Iowa, Republican, he served in the Iowa Senate from 2003 until his 2009 retirement. He attended the University of Nebraska and received his Bachelors in Farm Operations from Iowa State University. Iowa Senate Elections, 2008
The 2008 Iowa Senate election were held on November 4, 2008. The Senate seats for the twenty-five even-numbered districts were up for election. Senate terms are staggered such that half the membership is elected every two years, with each Senators serving a four-year term. Prior to the election, the Democrats were in the majority - marking the first time in 42 years that the Democrats had controlled both branches of the Iowa General Assembly and the Governor's Office.
