Tim George Jr.
Tim George Jr. (born December 21, 1980) is an American professional stock car racing driver. Personal life and early career George was born on Manhattan's Upper East Side in 1980 as the son of investment banker Timothy M. George. George Sr. is the treasurer of the Philharmonic-Symphony Society of New York, Inc. (aka the New York Philharmonic) and founded the Potomac Family Dining Group, which owns several Applebee's franchises. He also served as an executive for JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs. George began his racing career in 2005. Employed at the time as a chef in a New York–based Italian restaurant, he was catering at a sports-car racing event at the road course at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut, and when he was criticized by the head chef for having modified a recipe, he took a break to watch the cars race. Road America
Road America is a motorsport road course located near Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, United States on Wisconsin Highway 67. It has hosted races since the 1950s and currently hosts races in the NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series, WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, IndyCar Series, SCCA Pirelli World Challenge, ASRA, AMA Superbike series, and SCCA Pro Racing's Trans-Am Series. NASCAR will replace Road America with street racing through Downtown Chicago starting in 2023. Current track and facilities Road America is a permanent road course. New Jersey Motorsports Park is a road course "Motorsports Entertainment Complex" located in Millville, Cumberland County, New Jersey, United States. It has hosted races since opening in 2008 and currently hosts a schedule including MotoAmerica Pro Road Racing, 24 Hours of LeMons, American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association, SCCA events, SCCA Pro Racing's F2000 Championship Series. TRG Motorsports
The Racer's Group, or TRG, is a WeatherTech SportsCar Championship racing team located in Petaluma, California, owned by Kevin Buckler and his wife Debra. TRG has competed professionally in road racing since 1995. The team formerly competed in NASCAR as TRG Motorsports from 2007 to 2011. Grand-Am Road Racing or Grand-Am was an auto racing sanctioning body that was established in 1999 to organize road racing competitions in North America. Its primary focus was the Rolex Sports Car Series, an endurance racing championship series. It sanctioned five auto racing series. Skip Barber Racing School
The Skip Barber Racing School is an American racing and driving school. Skip Barber founded the school in 1975. History In 1975, Skip Barber started the Skip Barber School of High Performance Driving at Riverside International Raceway. In 1976, it was renamed the Skip Barber Racing School. Despite selling the school in 1999, Barber remains active in motorsports today as the owner of Lime Rock Park. On May 22, 2017, the school filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Lime Rock Park is a natural-terrain motorsport road racing venue located in Lakeville, Connecticut, United States, a hamlet in the town of Salisbury, in the state's northwest corner. Built in 1956, it is the nation's third oldest continuously operating road racing venue, behind Road America (1955) and Willow Springs International Motorsports Park (1953).
