Tiller is an unincorporated community in Douglas County, Oregon, United States. Tiller post office was established in 1902. Tiller is ZIP Code 97484 in Area Code 541, although parts of the town are included in the zip code of neighboring Days Creek. Tiller is served by the 825 exchange. In 2017, many of the town's properties were offered for sale for $3.85 million. The asking price included 257 contiguous acres encompassing most of the town's buildings as well as wooded hilltops and approximately 2 million board feet of marketable lumber. Douglas County is one of the 36 counties in the U.S. state of Oregon. As of the 2020 census, the population was 111,201. The county seat is Roseburg. The county is named after Stephen A. Oregon Route 227 was an Oregon state highway which originally ran from the city of Canyonville, Oregon to the community of Trail. In 1985, the highway was truncated at the Douglas–Jackson county line; only the southern section remained under state control. It was known as the Tiller–Trail Highway No. 230 (see Oregon highways and routes). Route description OR 227 previously began, at its western terminus, at an interchange with Interstate 5 and Oregon Route 99 in Canyonville. South Umpqua River
The South Umpqua River is a tributary of the Umpqua River, approximately long, in southwestern Oregon in the United States. It drains part of the Cascade Range east of Roseburg. The river passes through a remote canyon in its upper reaches then emerges in the populated South Umpqua Valley east of Canyonville.
