Tifton Blue Sox
The Tifton Blue Sox were a minor league baseball team based in Tifton, Georgia. From 1949 to 1955, Tifton played as members of the Class D level Georgia State League (1949–1950) and Georgia–Florida League (1951–1956), winning the 1949 league championship. The Tifton teams hosted home minor league games at Eve Park. Tifton played the 1954 season as a minor league affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, adopting the "Indians" nickname for that season. Albany Cardinals
The Albany Cardinals were a minor league baseball club, based in Albany, Georgia, that existed between 1935 and 1958. It was member of the Class D Georgia–Florida League and an affiliate with the St. Louis Cardinals, through most of their existence. The Paul Eames Sports Complex is a minor league baseball stadium, located in Albany, Georgia. The stadium was the home of the South Georgia Peanuts, of the South Coast League, prior to the folding of the league in 2008. Thomasville, Georgia was home to several minor league baseball teams from 1913 to 1963, most of them in the Georgia–Florida League. History The Thomasville Hornets played from 1913 to 1915 in the Empire State League, Georgia–Florida League and Florida–Alabama–Georgia League. Baseball did not return until the Thomasville Orioles arrived in 1935 in the Georgia–Florida League as an affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles of the International League.
