Tiana Sumanasekera
Tiana Sumanasekera (born September 15, 2007) is an American artistic gymnast and a member of the United States women's national artistic gymnastics team. She is the 2023 Pan American all-around and balance beam champion. Early life Sumanasekera was born to Rajitha and Ruwangi Sumanasekera in 2007. She started gymnastics in 2013. She is of Sri Lankan descent. Sumanasekera is believed to be the first gymnast of Sri Lankan descent to represent the U.S. in international competition. Junior gymnastics career 2021 Sumanasekera competed at the 2021 Winter Cup where she placed seventh in the all-around. She next competed at the American Classic where she placed eighth in the all-around but won gold on floor exercise and silver on vault. Hezly Rivera (born June 4, 2008) is an American artistic gymnast. She was a member of the silver medal-winning team at the 2023 Junior World Championships. Additionally she is the 2023 Junior World silver medalist on floor exercise. Early life Rivera was born in Hackensack, New Jersey in 2008 to Henry Rivera and Heidy Ruiz, and raised in nearby Oradell. Gymnastics career Junior 2022 Rivera competed at the 2022 Winter Cup where she placed third in the all-around. As a result, she was selected to compete at the DTB Pokal Team Challenge. The 2022 Winter Cup was an artistic gymnastics competition held at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco. Like the previous year it included both men's and women's artistic gymnastics. Kailin Chio (born July 4, 2006) is an American artistic gymnast and former member of the USA national gymnastics team. She is the 2021 Junior Pan American Games champion on floor exercise. Early life Chio was born to Sara and Nathan Chio in 2006 in Henderson, Nevada. She started gymnastics in 2009. Gymnastics career 2021 Chio competed at the American Classic where she finished first in the all-around in the junior division. Madray Emmanuelle Johnson (born July 16, 2007) is an American artistic gymnast. She is the 2021 Junior Pan American Games champion on uneven bars and balance beam and is the 2022 U.S. junior national champion. Katelyn Jong (born July 28, 2006) is an American artistic gymnast and a member of the United States women's national gymnastics team. She is the 2021 U.S. Junior National Champion. Early life Jong was born to Simon and Yoomin Jong in 2006 in Allen, Texas. She started gymnastics in 2010. Gymnastics career HOPEs 2018–19 In 2018 Jong was part of the USA Gymnastics HOPEs program. She competed at the Buckeye National Qualifier and the KPAC National Qualifier. At the latter she earned her qualifying score to compete at the Hopes Classic. Jong finished 26th at the Hopes Classic.
