Thérèse Steinmetz
Thérèse Steinmetz (born 17 May 1933) is a Dutch singer, best known for her participation in the 1967 Eurovision Song Contest. Early career Steinmetz studied at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, and appeared in various theatre, television and film roles before being give her own TV series, ''Thérèse'', in 1966 Eurovision Song Contest In 1967, Steinmetz sang all six songs in the Dutch Eurovision selection, with "Ring-dinge-ding" being chosen by postcard voting as the winner. Steinmetz went forward to the 12th Eurovision Song Contest, held in Vienna on 8 April, where "Ring-dinge-ding" ended the evening in 14th place of 17 entries, continuing a run of poor Dutch results dating back to 1960. Later career In 1970, Steinmetz won the Golden Stag Festival in Braşov, Romania, beating another former Eurovision singer, Lize Marke, into second place. Morgen (Ronnie Tober Song)
The Netherlands was represented by Ronnie Tober, with the song "Morgen", at the 1968 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 6 April in London. "Morgen" was the winner of the Dutch national final for the contest, held on 28 February. Tober had previously finished second in the Dutch preselection in 1965. Before Eurovision Nationaal Songfestival 1968 The national final was held at the Tivoli in Utrecht, hosted by Elles Berger. Six songs were originally lined up for the final, but singers Tante Leen and Trea Dobbs both withdrew, leaving a field of just four. It is not currently known how the winning song was chosen. Ronnie Tober
Ronald Edwin Tober (born 21 April 1945) is a Dutch singer, known for representing the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest 1968 with the song "Morgen". Early life Tober was born in Bussum, Netherlands, but moved to the United States with his family at the age of three. He grew up in Albany, New York. Career Early career Invited to appear on "The Teen Age Barn", a television show on the channel WRGB, he performed every week for several years. During this time, he appeared on television as a guest of singer Perry Como, performing "O Holy Night" together. He was also a guest star on the CBS series Route 66 with George Maharis and Martin Milner, and appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show. The Netherlands was represented by Milly Scott, with the song "Fernando en Filippo", at the 1966 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 5 March in Luxembourg City. Five acts participated in the Dutch preselection, which consisted of five qualifying rounds, followed by the final on 5 February.
