Thotapalle Estate
Thotapalle is a village in the East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. It is the Mansabdari estate with the same name which is resumed by Government in 1881. It has a revenue of 46,462/- by 1874-75 and peskash of 6,310/-. It was an impartible estate which was resumed by the government in the year 1881 and they were granted with a Privy Purse of 19,500/- which continued till the abolition. After its resumption in 1881, the estate is further divided into Unenfranchised inams of Inferior Mokhasas to their sub branches of the original holders. 27 Villages were further bought by the Maharajah of Pithapuram. They were annexed to the government in 1953. History Originally the ancestors of these Mansabdars of Thotapalle were Poligars in the Vijayanagara Empire. East Godavari
East Godavari is a district in the Coastal Andhra region of Andhra Pradesh, India. Its district headquarters is at Rajahmundry. As of 2011 Census of India, census 2011, it became the most populous district of the state with a population of 5,151,549. In the Madras Presidency, the District of Rajahmundry was created in 1823. It was reorganised in 1859 and was bifurcated into Godavari and Krishna district, Krishna districts. During British rule, Rajahmundry was the headquarters of Godavari District, which was further bifurcated into East Godavari and West Godavari districts in 1925. When the Godavari district was divided, Kakinada became the headquarters of East Godavari and Eluru became headquarters of West Godavari. In November 1956, Andhra Pradesh (1956–2014), Andhra Pradesh was formed by merging Andhra State with the Telugu-speaking areas of the Hyderabad State.
