Thomas Telford School (commonly referred to as TTS) is a City Technology College in Telford, Shropshire and is sponsored by The Mercers Company and Tarmac Holdings Limited. Prior to 2016 the mixed ability school ranked as the top performing comprehensive school in England, and was the first to achieve a GCSE pass rate of 100% A*-C grades. The school was rated by Ofsted as a Grade 1 outstanding school during 2009, and has not been inspected since. History The school was founded in 1991 as the eighth of fifteen specialist CTCs set up to raise educational standards in inner-city areas. The catchment area includes Telford, Wolverhampton and the villages and suburbs in between. City Technology College
In England, a City Technology College (CTC) is an urban all-ability specialist schoolWalter (2007), p. 6 for students aged 11 to 18 specialising in science, technology and mathematics. They charge no fees and are independent of local authority control, being overseen directly by the Department for Education. One fifth of the capital costs are met by private business sponsors, who also own or lease the buildings. The rest of the capital costs, and all running costs, are met by the Department. Walsall Academy
Walsall Academy is a secondary school based in Bloxwich, West Midlands, England, Walsall. It opened in January 2003 with 470 students on the roll, and after four years that figure had increased to 1,050 – making it one of the most populated secondary schools in Walsall. Built on the site of the former T. P. Riley Comprehensive School, it cost £23 million. A number of the teachers were carried over from T.P Riley School, while others were new recruits and a few were transferred from Thomas Telford School. The current Head Teacher is Simon Rogers, who replaced Vivienne Evans. Evans replaced the first Head Teacher, Jean Hickman in September 2009. Omari Shaquille Douglas (born 24 March 1994) is an English actor. He is known for his role as Roscoe Babatunde in the Channel 4 drama ''It's a Sin'' (2021). He has received nominations for a British Academy Television Award and a Laurence Olivier Award. Morgan Anthony Gibbs-White (born 27 January 2000) is an English professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder of winger for Premier League club Nottingham Forest. Connor Lambert Goldson (born 18 December 1992) is an English professional footballer who plays for Scottish Premiership club Rangers. His preferred position is at centre-back, although he has also been utilised at right-back, and as a central midfielder. Danny Sean Guthrie (born 18 April 1987) is an unattached English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder, who last played for Fram in Iceland. Sharmadean Reid (born 28 May 1984) is a British Jamaican entrepreneur. She is the founder of WAH Nails and Beautystack. She is an advocate for women's empowerment. ''The Sound of Music'' is a musical with music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, and a book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. Sophie Bould
Sophie Bould is a British theatre and TV actress, from Shropshire, where she attended Thomas Telford School and St Dominic's High School for Girls in Brewood. She is now based in London. Her first stage appearance was as a little French girl, at age eight with the South Staffs Musical Theatre Company at the Grand Theatre in Wolverhampton.
