Thomas Lips
Thomas Lips (born 27 February 1970) is a Switzerland, Swiss curling, curler from Buchs, Zürich. Lips was a member of the Swiss team that won the 2006 European Curling Championships. Curling career Lips started playing curling in 1977. He won a bronze medal at the 1991 European Curling Championships, playing lead for Daniel Model. He would not return the Euros until 2003. Playing third for Bernhard Werthemann, they finished fourth. They finished sixth at the 2004 Ford World Men's Curling Championship. In 2006, playing second for Andreas Schwaller, the team won the Euros, defeating Scotland in the final. Lips currently skips his own team, which he took over in 2010, replacing Toni Müller, who will keep throwing last rocks. Prior to 2009, Lips played for Andreas Schwaller. In their first event, the 2010 Baden Masters, the hometown Lips rink defeated the new Brad Gushue/Randy Ferbey team in the final. Urdorf is a municipality in the district of Dietikon in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland, located in the Limmat Valley (German: ''Limmattal''). Geography Urdorf has an area of . Randy Ferbey
Randy S. Ferbey (born May 30, 1959) is a Canadian retired curler from Sherwood Park, Alberta. Ferbey is a six-time Canadian champion and a four-time World Champion. He currently coaches the Rachel Homan women's team. Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Ferbey notably popularized the system of having the skip throw third rocks, when he skipped the team nicknamed "the Ferbey Four", a team with which he won four Briers (2001, 2002, 2003, 2005) and narrowly missed winning the 2004 final after giving up a 7–3 lead to Mark Dacey. Others teams in both men's and women's curling have adopted the system of not having the skip throw last stones, such as the Margaretha Sigfridsson rink, who would win winning an Olympic Silver and numerous World silvers and Europeans golds by skipping while throwing lead stones, and Jim Cotter throwing last rocks for John Morris who would together reach the finals of both 2014 Olympic Curling Trials and 2014 Brier. Brad Gushue
Bradley Raymond Gushue, ONL ( ; born June 16, 1980) is a Canadian curler from St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. Gushue, along with teammates Russ Howard, Mark Nichols, Jamie Korab and Mike Adam, represented Canada in curling at the 2006 Winter Olympics, where they won the gold medal by defeating Finland 10–4. He also represented Canada at the 2022 Winter Olympics, where he won a bronze medal. In addition to the Olympics, Gushue won the 2017 World Men's Curling Championship with teammates Mark Nichols, Brett Gallant, and Geoff Walker. He is a four-time Brier champion, having won in 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2022, all with Nichols, Gallant and Walker. Their win in 2017 was Newfoundland and Labrador's first Brier title in 41 years. 2010 Baden Masters
The 2010 Baden Masters was held September 10-12 in Baden, Switzerland. It was the first event of the Men's World Curling Tour for the 2010-11 curling season. The total purse of the event was 26,500 Swiss francs (CHF). The winning team was the hometown Thomas Lips rink which defeated the new Brad Gushue/Randy Ferbey combination team in the final.
