Thomas Hellriegel
Thomas Hellriegel (born 14 January 1971) a.k.a. "Hell on Wheels" is a German Ironman triathlete. His biggest achievement is winning the 1997 Ironman World Championship. Hellriegel was also second in the event in 1995 (to Mark Allen) and 1996 (to Luc Van Lierde). Mark Allen (born January 12, 1958 in Glendale, California) is an American triathlete and six-time Ironman Triathlon World Champion. Education He graduated from UC San Diego, where he was an All-American swimmer, with a degree in biology. Career After competing and losing in the Ironman Triathlon Championships six times (often to Dave Scott), Allen emerged victorious in 1989, winning one of the most difficult one-day sporting events in the world. Normann ("The Norminator") Stadler (born February 25, 1973 in Wertheim am Main, Wertheim) is a retired professional triathlon, triathlete from Germany. He is the winner of the 2004 and 2006 Ironman World Championship, Ironman Triathlon World Championship in Hawaii. Stadler was a member of the Tri Dubai triathlon team until it disbanded at the end of the 2006 triathlon season. Up until 2011, he was a member of the Commerzbank Triathlon Team. Luc Van Lierde (born 14 April 1969 in Bruges) is a former athlete from Belgium, who has been competing in triathlon since 1990 and who has been a professional triathlon coach since 2009. Athletic career Van Lierde's international career started in 1990 when he came fourth in the World Olympic Distance Triathlon Championships. An Ironman Triathlon is one of a series of long-distance triathlon races organized by the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC), consisting of a swim, a bicycle ride and a marathon run completed in that order, a total of .
