Thomas Field (30 December 1829 – 29 September 1899), frequently referred to as Canon Field, was an Anglican priest born in London, who had a substantial career in the colony of South Australia. History Field was born in London, a son of John Field (24 Jan 1799 – 10 Jan 1845) and Elizabeth Field, née Loat (c. 1801 – 2 March 1880), of Balham, Surrey, and entered King's College, London, gaining his associate diploma in 1849. He then studied at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, where he took the BA degree in 1854 and the M.A. degree in 1857. In 1855 he was ordained deacon, and priest the following year. He served as curate of the church St. Giles Reading from 1855 to 1857, and the church at Petersfield, Hants. from 1857 to 1861 and at Petworth, Sussex from 1861 to 1862. Thomas Field (9 November 1855 – 20 May 1936) was a priest in the Church of England and most notable as an educational reformer, the headmaster of two major schools. Life He was born on 9 November 1855 to Thomas Field of Folkestone, a draper. Field was a distinguished Oxford "classic", he taught at Repton School and Harrow School from 1878 to 1886, and had been Headmaster of The King's School, Canterbury from 1886 to 1897, before becoming warden of Radley College 1897 to 1913. He was described in those days as being tall, ponderous and swarthy, with a mighty chest and close cut black beard, a man of invincible energy, truly the picture of the Victorian England, Victorian Headmaster. He had an elephantine memory, whose singing was an unmelodious roar. A tale is told of Field's days at Radley - that he was left, owing to a sudden conspiratorial silence, to blare forth alone - 'I am a worm and no man'. Thomas Andrew Hemming Field (1859 – 27 October 1937) was a New Zealand politician of the Reform Party (New Zealand), Reform Party. Thomas Geoffrey Field (born 14 March 1997) is a professional footballer who plays as a left back for Canadian Premier League club Cavalry FC. Tom Fields (born 19 December 1992) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Fields was raised in Queensland. He played football for North East Australian Football League club Labrador, and he represented Queensland at the 2011 AFL Under 18 Championships. After the 2012 season, Fields moved to Adelaide and played in the South Australian National Football League for South Adelaide as a tall attacking defender, where he played for two seasons. Tom Fields (born 1951) is a Muscogee Creek/Cherokee photographer from Oklahoma. He has worked in both commercial and fine art photography during his career. Fields specializes in full-frame, black-and-white photos, shot as close as possible, of American Indian communities. For Fields, his work provides a "visual definition of what it is like to be Native American in Oklahoma." Early life Tom Fields was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, in 1951. His Muscogee father was a minister, so the family moved all over eastern Oklahoma and Kansas. His mother was Cherokee. Fields' earliest exposure to photography was in helping his father prepare slides for church services with his father's Instamatic camera.
