Thomas Dinger
Thomas Dinger (28 October 1952 — 9 April 2002) was a German drummer, singer and songwriter who was active in solo pursuits in addition to having been a member of Neu! and La Düsseldorf, both with his brother Klaus Dinger, and 1-A Düsseldorf. West Germany is the colloquial term used to indicate the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG; german: Bundesrepublik Deutschland , BRD) between its formation on 23 May 1949 and the German reunification through the accession of East Germany on 3 October 1990. ''Neu! 75'' is the third studio album by the krautrock band Neu!. It was recorded and mixed at Conny Plank's studio between December 1974 and January 1975. It was released in 1975 by Brain Records, and officially reissued on CD on 29 May 2001 by Astralwerks in the US and by Grönland Records in the UK. Overview This album saw Neu! regroup after a few years' break, during which time Michael Rother had worked together with Cluster in the krautrock supergroup Harmonia. By this time, Rother and bandmate Klaus Dinger had somewhat diverged in their musical intentions for the band, Dinger preferring a more aggressive, rock-influenced style than Rother's ambient predilections. As a result, they agreed to a compromise: Side 1 of the record was recorded in the old Neu! style, as a duo, with Dinger playing drums. ''Goldregen'' (Gold Rain) is the third album released in 1998 by German band La! Neu?. Like the previous year's ''Zeeland'', ''Goldregen'' takes the form of a series of spontaneous jams, quickly recorded and mastered. Unlike ''Zeeland'', ''Goldregen'' is entirely acoustic, containing only piano, violin, harmonium, drums and vocals. Unlike most other albums released by Klaus Dinger it is quiet and meditative rather than aggressive or abrasive; its low key and low-fi values arguable align it with ambient music. Background and recording The album title is a play on words. The cover painting depicts a laburnum plant, which in German is called ''goldregen''. Klaus Dinger's grand piano was made by a company called "Goldregen". Recording began on 2 May 1998 at Klaus Dinger's studio in Düsseldorf, starting with the album's opener "Zeeland Wunderbar"; the only track to have been written before sessions began. ''Individuellos'' is the third album by the German band La Düsseldorf. It was shortly before the time ''Individuellos'' was released that La Düsseldorf's piano player Andreas Schell committed suicide. This is marked by a cross next to his credit. His credit for piano on "Das Yvonnchen" is the only musician's credit on the album. Writers' credits go to Klaus Dinger, Thomas Dinger (Tintarella Di ...), K+T Dinger (Dampfriemen), and Klaus Dinger, Thomas Dinger, Hans Lampe and Andreas Schell for "Das Yvonnchen". Viva (La Düsseldorf Album)
''Viva'' is the second and most successful album of Klaus Dinger's band La Düsseldorf. It has both "Rheinita", which was their most successful single, and "Cha Cha 2000", which has become their most famous song. Different mixes/edits of "Rheinita" and "Viva" were released as a single; the single version of "Viva" is slightly longer and has a fadeout, the album version segues into "White Overalls". "Vögel" ("Birds") is a minute and a half of bird noises. All songs are written by Klaus Dinger. Reception ''Smash Hits'' said at the time of release, "If you're looking for something different or something new to pose with and say ever-so-casually 'oh, haven't you heard of them?' to your friends, then try this. La Düsseldorf was a German band, consisting of onetime Kraftwerk drummer and Neu! multi-instrumentalist Klaus Dinger and occasional Neu! collaborators Thomas Dinger and Hans Lampe. La Düsseldorf was formed after Neu! disbanded following the release of their ''Neu! '75'' record.
