Thomas C. Fields
Thomas Craig Fields (November 9, 1825 in St. Lawrence County, New York – January 25, 1885 in Saint-André-d'Argenteuil, Quebec, Canada) was an American lawyer and politician from New York. Life He studied law in Delhi, was admitted to the bar in 1846, and practiced in New York City. In 1847, he married Annie E. Smith. He was a Central Park Commissioner from 1857 to 1870; and a New York City Park Commissioner from 1870 to 1872. He was a member of the New York State Assembly (New York Co., 17th D.) in 1863; of the New York State Senate (7th D.) in 1864 and 1865; and again of the State Assembly (New York Co., 19th D.) in 1870, 1871 and 1872. During the impeachment of New York State Supreme Court Justice George G. Barnard, among the charges it was noted that Barnard denied alimony to Annie on behalf of Fields. He was a member of the Tweed Ring, and in the autumn of 1872 he fled to Cuba, then Europe, and finally Canada, and died while being a fugitive from justice at his residenc ... Thomas Murphy (Collector)
Thomas Murphy (1821 – August 17, 1901) was an Irish-American businessman and politician from New York City, serving as a New York state senator for a total of three terms, 1866 through 1867, and in 1879. He had joined the Republican Party and made his fortune selling equipment to the Union Army during the American Civil War. Afterward, he became part of the political machine run by US Senator from New York Roscoe Conkling, and was appointed as the Collector of the Port of New York from 1870 to 1871. Life Murphy was born in Ireland in 1821. He emigrated to the United States as a young man and entered the fur business. He became interested in politics, joining first the Whig party and later the Republicans. In 1848, he married Mary Gibbs (died 1897), and they had five children. Josiah Porter
Josiah ( or ) or Yoshiyahu; la, Iosias was the 16th king of Judah (–609 BCE) who, according to the Hebrew Bible, instituted major religious reforms by removing official worship of gods other than Yahweh. Josiah is credited by most biblical scholars with having established or compiled important Hebrew scriptures during the "Deuteronomic reform" which probably occurred during his rule. Josiah became king of the Kingdom of Judah at the age of eight, after the assassination of his father, King Amon. Josiah reigned for 31 years, from 641/640 to 610/609 BCE.
