Thomas De Beaumont, 6th Earl Of Warwick
Thomas de Beaumont, 6th Earl of Warwick (1208 – 26 June 1242), Earl of Warwick, Baron of Hocknorton (Hook Norton) and Hedenton, was the son of Henry de Beaumont, 5th Earl of Warwick and Margaret D'Oili. He was also known as Thomas de Henry. Although he had attained his majority at the death of his father, he did not get full possession of the earldom until four years later, when he was girt with the Sword of Knighthood; this took place at Gloucester where the King was spending Whitsuntide. He inherited his uncle's (Henry D'Oili) Oxfordshire estate and owned the Manor of Bewdley, Worcester and rendered service for it, of a fully equipped archer for twenty days, as often as there was war against the Welsh. In 1241, he paid one hundred and eighty marks scutage in order that he might be excused attendance on Henry III of England in the expedition to Gascony. Sir Thomas Beaumont ( 1555 – 27 November 1614) of Stoughton Grange, Leicestershire, was an English Member of Parliament for Leicester. His father, Nicholas Beaumont of Coleorton was also an MP and his mother, Anne was the daughter of William Saunders of Welford, Northants. Thomas' elder brother Henry Beaumont preceded him as MP for Leicester. Thomas Beaumont was knighted in 1603 and elected MP for Leicester in 1604. Thomas Beaumont married Katherine Farnham, daughter of Thomas Farnham (MP) of Stoughton Grange. They produced ten children; three sons (Henry, Farnham, and Thomas) and seven daughters (Elizabeth, Frances, Anne, Elinor, Isabel, Jane, Mary). Henry's son, Sir Thomas Beaumont, became the first Baronet of Stoughton Grange. Their daughter Elizabeth Richardson, 1st Lady Cramond was created Baroness (Scotland) in her own right by Charles I of England and her daughter (also named Elizabeth) married Frederick Cornwallis, 1st Baron Cornwallis. Thomas Beaumont, 1st Viscount Beaumont Of Swords
Thomas Beaumont, 1st Viscount Beaumont of Swords (c. 1582 – 8 February 1625) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons between 1604 and 1611. He was raised to the peerage in 1622. Beaumont was the son of Sir Henry Beaumont of Cole Orton, Leicestershire and his wife Elizabeth Lewis, daughter of John Lewis of London. He was educated at Peterhouse, Cambridge (c. 1596) and studied law at the Inner Temple in 1610. He was knighted at Belvoir Castle on 23 April 1603. In 1604, he was elected Member of Parliament for Tamworth. He was a Justice of the Peace for Leicestershire by 1608 to 1616 and from 1618 to at least 1623 and was appointed Sheriff of Leicestershire for 1610–11. He was a member of the Virginia Company by 1612. Viscount Beaumont Of Swords
Viscount Beaumont of Swords, in the County of Dublin, was a title in the Peerage of Ireland. It was created on 20 May 1622 for Sir Thomas Beaumont, 1st Baronet, Member of Parliament for Leicestershire from 1604 to 1611 and High Sheriff of Leicestershire in 1610. He had already been created a baronet, of Cole Orton in the County of Leicester, in the Baronetage of England on 17 September 1619. The titles became extinct on the death of his grandson, the third Viscount in 1702. The first Viscount was the son of Sir Henry Beaumont, Member of Parliament for Leicestershire in 1589, son of Nicholas Beaumont, MP for Leicestershire in the reign of Elizabeth I and a descendant of John Beaumont, 4th Baron Beaumont (see Baron Beaumont for earlier history of the family). Sir Thomas Beaumont, 1st Baronet
Sir Thomas Beaumont, 1st Baronet (died 11 August 1676) was an English politician. Biography Beaumont was the oldest son of Sir Henry Beaumont and Elizabeth, daughter of Sir William Turpin. Beaumont sat as a member of parliament (MP) for Leicestershire (UK Parliament constituency), Leicestershire between 1654 and 1659 and was High Sheriff of Leicestershire between 1668 and 1669. On 5 March 1658, he was created a baronet, of Stoughton Grange, in the County of Leicester by the Lord Protector (Cromwell), Lord Protector Oliver Cromwell. After the Stuart Restoration, Restoration however this creation was declared invalid and Beaumont received a new patent, dated on 21 February 1661. Family Beaumont married Elizabeth Trott, daughter of Sir Nicholas Trott. They had three sons and three daughters. Colonel Thomas Richard Beaumont (29 April 1758 – 31 July 1829) of Bretton Hall, Wakefield, Yorkshire, was a British Tory politician and soldier. Origins He was the son of Thomas Beaumont of The Oaks in Darton, Yorkshire, by his wife Anne Ayscough, daughter of Edward Ayscough. Career In 1794 Beaumont raised the 21st Light Dragoons and served as the regiment's colonel until 1802. He entered the British House of Commons in 1795 and sat for Northumberland first in the Parliament of Great Britain, then in Parliament of the United Kingdom until 1818. Marriage and children Beaumont married Diana Wentworth (1765–1831), daughter of Sir Thomas Wentworth, 5th Baronet, by whom he had three daughters and five sons, including Thomas Wentworth Beaumont, eldest son, also MP for Northumberland, and the ancestor of Baron Allendale and Viscount Allendale. Thomas Wentworth Beaumont
Thomas Wentworth Beaumont (5 November 1792 – 20 December 1848) of Bretton Hall, Wakefield in Yorkshire, and of Bywell Hall in Northumberland, was a British politician and soldier. In 1831, at the time he inherited his mother's estate, he was the richest commoner in England. Origins He was born in Old Burlington Street in Mayfair, London, the eldest son of Thomas Richard Beaumont by his wife Diana Wentworth, daughter of Sir Thomas Wentworth, 5th Baronet. Career Beaumont was educated at Eton College and St John's College, Cambridge, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1813. He served as lieutenant-colonel of the Northumberland Militia, but resigned in 1824. In 1826, he fought a duel with John Lambton later 1st Earl of Durham. He was president of the Literary Association of the Friends of Poland and a member of the Royal Yacht Squadron.
