''Thirteen'' is a 1974 Hong Kong coming-of-age film directed by Sung Tsun-shou and produced by Shaw Brothers Studio. Kuo Liang-hui
Kuo Liang-hui (; 17 August 1926 in Kaifeng, Henan – 19 June 2013 in Taiwan) was a Taiwanese novelist. Several of her works were turned into films. Early life Kuo Liang-hui was born in the Juye County in Shandong Province. She completed high school in Xi’an during the Chinese War of Resistance against Japan and started reading poetry at age of 16. She attended Sichuan University and became a student of Huang Ji Lu () and received a Foreign Language degree at Fudan University. Kuo moved to Chiayi, Taiwan after marrying Sun Ji-dong, pilot of the Republic of China Air Force in 1949. To increase income for living, Kuo started off with novel translations (including works of Guy de Maupassant), and soon became a novelist. Runme Shaw
Runme Shaw, K.St.J (; 1 January 1901 – 2 March 1985) was the chairman and founder of the Shaw Organisation of Singapore. Runme Shaw and his brother, Run Run Shaw, together known as the Shaw Brothers, were pioneers in the film and entertainment industry in Singapore and Malaya, and brought to life the movie industry in Asia, especially the Southeast Asian region. Runme Shaw was also a philanthropist who started the Shaw Foundation, a charitable organisation. Tien Niu (; born 23 January 1958) is a Taiwanese actresses. Tien's birth name is Chu Kai-li. She won the Golden Horse Award for Best Leading Actress at the 15th Golden Horse Awards in 1978, and was shortlisted for the same prize during the 19th Golden Horse Awards in 1982. Ling Yun () (born 1941) is a Taiwanese-born actor in Taiwan and Hong Kong. Early life On January 15, 1941, Ling was born in Taiwan as Lin Long-song. Career Ling started his acting career in Taiwan under the alias of Long Song. Lin first appeared in Ah San Ge Chu Ma (aka A Brother-in-law), a 1959 Hokkien language Taiwan film directed by Lin Tuan-Chiu. Ling joined Shaw Brothers in 1964. In 1965, Ling first appeared in Hong Kong film. Ling appeared in Pink Tears, a 1965 Hong Kong Mandarin-language film directed by Chun Kim. In Hong Kong, Ling changed his name to Ling Yun. Ling's last Hong Kong film was Legend of the Bat (aka Clans of Intrigue 2, Bat Island Adventure), a 1978 Hong Kong Cantonese-language film directed by Chor Yuen. Chin Han (actor, Born 1938)
Ronald Bi Jen-hsu (born 4 December 1938), known by his stage name Chin Han, is a retired Hong Kong actor, director, screenwriter and producer born in mainland China. He has appeared in over 50 Mandarin-language films in Hong Kong and Taiwan, many of them produced by the Shaw Brothers Studio in the 1960s and the 1970s. Personal life Born in Weihai, Republic of China, Pi Jen-hsu moved to Hong Kong as a small child during the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong. After finishing from New Method College, his first career was in a ''hong''. In 1961, he entered Shaw Brothers Studio, working as a script supervisor for director Yueh Feng. Wong Yue (born Wong Chi-kuen; 26 October 1955 – 15 May 2008) was a Hong Kong martial arts film actor. Background Born Wong Chi-kuen in Hong Kong on 26 October 1955. He starred in many Shaw Brothers Studio films and is known for his comic roles in films with Gordon Liu, such as ''Dirty Ho'', '' Spiritual Boxer II'', ''The 36th Chamber of Shaolin'' and ''Eight Diagram Pole Fighter''. He was sometimes credited as Wong Yu and as Wang Yu, but is a different person than an older Shaw Brothers star, Jimmy Wang Yu. Shaw Brothers (HK) Ltd. () was the largest film production company in Hong Kong, and operated from 1925 to 2011. In 1925, three Shaw brothers— Runje, Runme, and Runde—founded Tianyi Film Company (also called "Unique") in Shanghai, and established a film distribution base in Singapore, where Runme and their youngest brother, Run Run Shaw, managed the precursor to the parent company, Shaw Organisation.
