Third Jersey
A third jersey, alternative jersey, third kit, third sweater or alternative uniform is a jersey or uniform that a sports team can wear instead of its home outfit or its away outfit during games, often when the colors of two competing teams' other uniforms are too similar to contrast easily. In truth, there is never a need for a third jersey in a two-team game. One team can wear its home or normal colours, and the other its away or substitute colours: by definition the latter cannot clash with the former. (Leaving only the remote possibility that each team's away jersey is so similar, by accident' that the home team may be confused to see the away team in colours that it occasionally plays in. The ECHL (formerly the East Coast Hockey League) is a mid-level professional ice hockey league based in Shrewsbury, New Jersey, with teams scattered across the United States and Canada. The American Hockey League (AHL) is a professional ice hockey league based in the United States and Canada that serves as the primary developmental league for the National Hockey League (NHL).
