Thimister-Clermont (; wa, Timister-Clairmont) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Liège, Belgium. On January 1, 2006, Thimister-Clermont had a total population of 5,296. The total area is 28.69 km2 which gives a population density of 185 inhabitants per km2. The municipality consists of the following districts: Clermont-sur-Berwinne, and Thimister. Clermont-sur-Berwinne
Clermont-sur-Berwinne ( wa, Clairmont-so-Berwinne) is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Thimister-Clermont, located in the Liège Province, province of liège, Belgium. The village is a member of the association ''Les Plus Beaux Villages de Wallonie''. The oldest mentions of the village date from the 13th century. The church was built 1628–1832, with elements incorporated from an earlier church built in 1567. The former town hall dates from 1888, built in a Renaissance Revival architecture, Renaissance Revival style inspired by the architecture of the Meuse valley. ''Les Plus Beaux Villages de Wallonie'' ( French; in English: "The Most Beautiful Villages of Wallonia") is a non-profit organisation formed in 1994 to promote, protect and develop a number of villages in Wallonia, Belgium. The association is inspired by the organisation ''Les plus beaux villages de France'' and is established as an ASBL in Belgium. ''Les Plus Beaux Villages de Wallonie'' organises events such as ''Un Dimanche, un Beau Village'' ("one Sunday, one beautiful village"), where one village is highlighted and promoted each week, and activities take place to allow visitors to explore the culture and heritage of the village. Aubel (; wa, Åbe) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Liège, Belgium. On 1 January 2006 the municipality had 4,082 inhabitants. The total area is 18.83 km², giving a population density of 217 inhabitants per km². The Val-Dieu Abbey is located in the municipality, as is the Siroperie Meurens maker of sirop de Liège. Market Aubel is famous for its regional products, these include: cheese, syrup, cider and beer. The market is active on Tuesdays and Sundays. It was very famous in the past and has been continually active since 1630. In the past, people came from far away to sell and buy products. Especially the cheese from Aubel is very famous. It is protected as a Herve cheese by a European qualification.
