Thierry Choffat
Thierry Choffat (19 May 1968 – 6 September 2021) was a French political scientist. He specialized in syndicalism, the far right, the far left, and Bonapartism. Biography Choffat earned a degree in public law from the University of Rennes 1 and obtained a doctorate in political science. He became a lecturer at the University of Lorraine and joined the . He served on the council of administrators of the Souvenir napoléonien. In 2010, he became President of the Vosges Napoléoniennes, an association re-enacting events from the department of Vosges. A Bonapartist activist, Choffat co-founded the political party Rassemblement bonapartiste in 1992. The party dissolved in 1996 and he subsequently co-founded Avenir France République, under which he stood in the 1997 French legislative election, garnering 3% of the vote in Doubs's 3rd constituency. Mortagne, Vosges
Mortagne () is a commune in the Vosges department in Grand Est in northeastern France. It shares its name with the eponymous river which borders the commune on its south-eastern side. Geography The commune is positioned on undulating lower slopes of the Vosges Mountains. The settlements in the commune are dispersed across various hamlets that include l'Orme, le Bout du Dessus, le Bout du Milieu and le Bout du Dessous. The commune is crossed by the little River Mossoux, a tributary of the Mortagne which itself feeds into the Meurthe. Much of the valley here remains wild and uncultivated: the last farm on the route to the forest is called 'The End of the World'. Debout la France (, ; DLF) is a French political party founded by Nicolas Dupont-Aignan in 1999 under the name Debout la République (''Republic Arise'', DLR) as the "genuine Gaullist" branch of the Rally for the Republic (RPR). It was relaunched again in 2000 and 2002 and held its inaugural congress as an autonomous party in 2008. At the 2014 congress its name was changed to Debout la France. It is led by Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, who holds the party's only seat in the French National Assembly. Dupont-Aignan contested the 2012 presidential election and received 644,043 votes in the first ballot, or 1.79% of the votes cast, finishing seventh. Gaullism (french: link=no, Gaullisme) is a French political stance based on the thought and action of World War II French Resistance leader Charles de Gaulle, who would become the founding President of the Fifth French Republic. De Gaulle withdrew French forces from the NATO Command structure, forced the removal of Allied bases from France, and initiated France's own independent nuclear deterrent programme. His actions were predicated on the view that France would not be subordinate to other nations. ''L'Est Républicain'' is a daily regional French newspaper based in Nancy, France. ''L'Est Républicain'' was established in 1889 by Léon Goulette, a French Republican.
