''They've Got Us Right Where They Want Us, At Each Other's Throats'' is the upcoming eighth studio album by American rock band Filter. Originally conceived in 2018 as a follow-up to the band's first album, '' Short Bus'' titled ''Rebus'', the project changed course due to the collapse of the PledgeMusic crowd funding platform. Despite this, some material from the sessions will still appear in the final release, while two other tracks were released in 2020 as singles. The album's title was changed to ''Murica'' in 2020 and was changed back to its current title in 2022. The album is scheduled for release in spring 2023. Filter is an American rock music, rock band formed in 1993 in Cleveland, Ohio, by singer Richard Patrick and guitarist and programmer Brian Liesegang. The band was formed when Patrick desired to start his own band after leaving Nine Inch Nails as their touring guitarist. Their debut album ''Short Bus (album), Short Bus'' was released in 1995 and ended up going platinum, largely due to the success of the single "Hey Man Nice Shot". After the album, the band would go through the first of many lineup changes, leaving Patrick as the only consistent member across all releases. After Liesegang's departure in 1997, Patrick recorded a follow up album with the ''Short Bus'' Title of Record#Personnel, touring band members, who became full-time members thereafter. Louise Lightner Post (born December 7, 1966) is an American musician. She is best known for being a vocalist and guitarist of the alternative rock band Veruca Salt, which she co-founded with Nina Gordon in 1993. Early life Post was born in St. Louis, Missouri. Her parents divorced when she was nine years old. She began playing the piano at the age of seven and participated in several musicals while in high school. At 16, Post founded an R&B band with her brother Eric. She later joined a funk cover band which played at proms, college dances, and bars. Post, inspired by Vanity 6, wrote her first song at age 16. Brian Liesegang (born February 10, 1970) is an American songwriter, producer, composer, guitarist and programmer, and a founding member of the industrial rock band Filter. Biography Liesegang was born in New York City, where his father Dr. Thomas Liesegang was attending medical school. He has since lived everywhere from North and South Carolina, to Jacksonville (graduating from The Bolles School), Miami, and Gainesville, Florida, to New Orleans, Los Angeles, Houston, Cleveland, spending most of his formative years in Rochester, Minnesota. Veruca Salt is an American alternative rock band founded in Chicago, Illinois, in 1992 by vocalist-guitarists Nina Gordon and Louise Post, drummer Jim Shapiro and bassist Steve Lack. He is the frontman for the rock band Filter and a founding member of the supergroups Army of Anyone and The Damning Well, and has served as a touring guitarist for Nine Inch Nails.
