Therevox
Therevox builds custom musical instruments in Ontario, Canada. The company focuses on continuous-pitch instruments and is known for building a modern analog synthesizer inspired by the rare Ondes Martenot. First commissioned in 2004 to build modern version of the Electro-Theremin as used by The Beach Boys on their 1966 single "Good Vibrations", only 12 of these instruments went to musicians and studios in North America and Europe. In 2010, Therevox was commissioned by Montreal's Breakglass Studio to design a new instrument that would combine the Ondes Martenot's ''au ruban'' and ''touche d’intensité'' interface with a dual oscillator analog synthesizer similar to the MiniMoog. The design included a built-in Spring Reverb and this prototype became the ET-4 model that has been available since 2012. Ondes Martenot
The ondes Martenot ( ; , "Martenot waves") or ondes musicales ("musical waves") is an early electronic musical instrument. It is played with a keyboard or by moving a ring along a wire, creating "wavering" sounds similar to a theremin. A player of the ondes Martenot is called an ondist. The ondes Martenot was invented in 1928 by the French inventor Maurice Martenot. Martenot was inspired by the accidental overlaps of tones between military radio oscillators, and wanted to create an instrument with the expressiveness of the cello. The ondes Martenot is used in more than 100 orchestral compositions. The French composer Olivier Messiaen used it in pieces such as his 1949 symphony ''Turangalîla-Symphonie,'' and his sister-in-law Jeanne Loriod was a celebrated player of the instrument. Electro-Theremin
The Electro-Theremin is an electronic musical instrument developed by trombonist Paul Tanner and amateur inventor Bob Whitsell in the late 1950s to produce a sound to mimic that of the theremin. The instrument features a tone and portamento similar to that of the theremin, but with a different control mechanism. It consisted of a sine wave generator with a knob that controlled the pitch, placed inside a wooden box. The pitch knob was attached to a slider on the outside of the box with some string. The player would move the slider, thus turning the knob to the desired frequency, with the help of markings drawn on the box. This contrasts with the theremin, which a performer plays without touching as two antennae sense the position and movement of the performer's hands. Team Me
Team Me is an indie pop band from Norway. Their 2011 debut studio album '' To the Treetops!'' won the 2011 Norwegian Grammy Awards (Spellemannprisen) in the category Best Pop Group of the Year. Their second studio album ''Blind as Night'' was released in early 2015. They disbanded in late 2015 to work on other projects, but Hagen has continued working as Team Me until it was announced in February 2019 that the band had reformed, with two additional members. The Native Tour (also known as the Native Summer Tour in North America or as the Native Fall Tour in Europe) is the third headlining concert tour by American Pop rock band OneRepublic, in support of their third studio album ''Native'' (2013). OneRepublic were joined on the Native Summer leg of the tour by The Script and American Authors, and on the European "Native Fall Tour" leg by Kongos. The Gertrudes are a Canadian indie folk band from Kingston, Ontario, founded in 2008.
