There By The Grace Of God
"There by the Grace of God" is a song by Wales, Welsh alternative rock band Manic Street Preachers. It was released on 14 October 2002 by record label Epic Records, Epic as a single from the band's greatest hits album ''Forever Delayed''. Content The song is noted for the line "And all the drugs in the world can't save us from ourselves", which is an almost word-for-word quote from Marilyn Manson's song "Coma White", which features the line "And all the drugs in this world can't save her from herself". Manson was previously referred to in the song "The Convalescent" from 2001's ''Know Your Enemy (Manic Street Preachers album), Know Your Enemy'', with the line "[...] and Brian Warner has a tasty little ass". The CD single includes the A-side and B-side, B-sides "Automatik Teknicolour", "It's All Gone", "Unstoppable Salvation", "Happy Ending" and the music video for "There by the Grace of God". Manic Street Preachers
Manic Street Preachers, also known simply as the Manics, are a Welsh Rock music, rock band formed in Blackwood, Caerphilly, Blackwood in 1986. The band consists of cousins James Dean Bradfield (lead vocals, lead guitar) and Sean Moore (musician), Sean Moore (drums, percussion, soundscapes), plus Nicky Wire (bass guitar, lyrics). They form a key part of the 1990s Welsh Cool Cymru cultural movement. Following the release of their debut single "Suicide Alley", Manic Street Preachers were joined by Richey Edwards as co-lyricist and rhythm guitarist, the band became as a quartet. The band's early albums were in a Punk rock, punk vein, eventually broadening to a greater alternative rock sound, whilst retaining a left-wing politics, leftist political outlook. Their early combination of androgynous glam rock, glam imagery and lyrics about "culture, alienation, boredom and despair" gained them a loyal following.
