Therapia Lane Tram Stop
Therapia Lane tram stop is a stop on the Tramlink service in Croydon, close to the Purley Way commercial area. The stop is in the London Borough of Sutton close to the boundary with Croydon. It is one of two Tramlink stops within Sutton borough, the other being Beddington Lane. Just to the west of the stop is Therapia Lane Depot Staff Halt, a two platform stop used only by staff getting to or from Therapia Lane depot, and not permitted for public use. However, since 21 March 2020, the stop has been out of use due to its narrow, short platforms preventing social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic. The staff halt's future is uncertain given it is less than 80m from the public stop. Tramlink
London Trams, previously Tramlink and Croydon Tramlink, is a light rail tram system serving Croydon and surrounding areas in South London, England. It began operation in 2000, the first tram system in the London region since 1952. It is managed by London Trams, a public body part of Transport for London (TfL), and has been operated by FirstGroup since 2017. Tramlink is one of two light rail networks in Greater London, the other being the Docklands Light Railway. Purley Way
Purley Way is a section of the A23 trunk road in the London Borough of Croydon, in the areas of Purley, Waddon and Broad Green, and has given its name to the out-of-town shopping area alongside it with a catchment area covering most of South London. It was designed as a bypass for Croydon, and opened in April 1925. It was formed from improvements to pre existing local roads: from north to south, Waddon Marsh Lane, Waddon Court Road and Coldharbour Lane. Beddington Lane Tram Stop
Beddington Lane tram stop is a stop on the Tramlink tramway. There was previously a railway station on this site, on the single track line from Wimbledon to West Croydon, which closed in 1997 in order for it to be converted for Tramlink use. The stop is accessible from the east from Beddington Lane, and also from the pathway leading to the west and south. In late 2014, the track immediately to the west of the tram stop was doubled, though further west the bridge carrying trams over the main line at Mitcham Junction is still single-track. It is one of two Tramlink stops within the London Borough of Sutton, the other being Therapia Lane. Therapia Lane Depot
Therapia Lane depot is a tram depot, situated in the London Borough of Sutton between Therapia Lane and Beddington Lane. Built on the site of former railway sidings, all tram maintenance, repairs and control functions are based in a purpose-built building, erected in 1998. The depot has sufficient stabling for up to 24 tram sets, and a double-track workshop with all required facilities to perform almost all maintenance.
