The World To Come
''The World to Come'' is a 2020 American drama film directed by Mona Fastvold, from a screenplay by Ron Hansen and Jim Shepard, based upon Shepard's story of the same name. It stars Katherine Waterston, Vanessa Kirby, Christopher Abbott and Casey Affleck, and follows two neighboring couples battling hardship and isolation in mid-19th century America. It had its world premiere at the 77th Venice International Film Festival on September 6, 2020, where it won the Queer Lion award for best LGBTQ-themed film at the festival. It was released in a limited release on February 12, 2021, followed by video on demand on March 2, 2021, by Bleecker Street. Mona Fastvold
Mona Fastvold (born 7 March 1981) is a Norwegian filmmaker and actress based in Brooklyn, New York. Her feature directorial debut was ''The Sleepwalker'' (2014) at Sundance Film Festival, Sundance. She has directed music videos for several musicians, most notably ex-husband Sondre Lerche. Career Fastvold co-wrote the screenplay for ''The Childhood of a Leader (film), The Childhood of a Leader'' and the story for ''Vox Lux'' with Brady Corbet, who directed both films. Peter Walsh (born 1960) is a British record producer and engineer. Walsh began his career as an engineer at London's Utopia Studios in the late 1970s, working with Stevie Wonder, The Tubes, Spandau Ballet and The Boomtown Rats amongst others. His breakthrough was as assistant producer on the 1981 debut album by Heaven 17, ''Penthouse and Pavement''.
