The Vault (2021 Film)
''The Vault'', titled ''Way Down'' in various regions, is a 2021 Spanish action thriller film directed by Jaume Balagueró. The film stars Freddie Highmore, Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey, Sam Riley, Liam Cunningham, Luis Tosar, Axel Stein, José Coronado and Famke Janssen. The story bears a passing resemblance to that of the Black Swan Project, recovered in 2007 by Odyssey Marine Exploration, a private marine salvage firm, but later turned over to Spain after 5 years of legal wrangling. Plot Thom is a gifted engineering student at Cambridge University who is being courted by recruiters from several major oil companies, all promising him increasingly richer salaries and job perks if he agrees to work for them. The Black Swan Project is the project name given by Odyssey Marine Exploration for its discovery and recovery of an estimated US$500 million ( £314 million) worth of silver and gold coins from the ocean floor. Jaume Balagueró
Jaume Balagueró Bernat (; born 2 November 1968) is a Spanish film director widely known for his horror films, most notably the acclaimed ''REC'' series. Early life Balagueró was born in Lleida, Spain, and grew up in Barcelona. He studied communications and photography at the University of Barcelona, graduating in 1991 with a degree in communication sciences. In 1992, Balagueró began work as a film journalist and radio host with the show “''La espuma de los días''” on Radio Hospitalet. Career Balagueró began his filmmaking career with the short video projects ''El niño bubónico'' (1991) and ''La invención de la leche'' (1993). In 1994, Balagueró graduated to shooting on 35mm with the short film ''Alicia'' (1994). The film won the prize for Best Short film at the Sitges Film Festival. Sir Francis Drake ( – 28 January 1596) was an English explorer, sea captain, privateer, slave trader, naval officer, and politician. Drake is best known for his circumnavigation of the world in a single expedition, from 1577 to 1580 (the first English circumnavigation, the second carried out in a single expedition, and third circumnavigation overall).
