The Union (James Bond)
The Union is a fictional criminal organization, which is the main antagonist to James Bond in the Raymond Benson novels ''High Time to Kill'', '' Doubleshot'' and ''Never Dream of Dying'' (collectively known as the "Union trilogy"). It is primarily a mercenary organization, working for any third party that asks for their help. Their actions include everything from petty theft and street crime to large scale acts of terrorism or industrial espionage. Much of their success rests on their uncanny ability to infiltrate law enforcement and intelligence agencies, which makes them a very difficult target when Bond and MI6 try to bring the Union down. The Unione Corse is a Corsican mafia criminal organization operating primarily out of Corsica and Marseille, France. Members of this organization, along with various other crime families, maintained the French Connection – a heroin trade monopoly between France and the United States from 1930 to 1970. Symbol The symbol of the Unione Corse was the same as the symbol for Corsica, the Maure, or Moor's Head, a depiction of a black human head with a rag tied around the forehead, on a white field. Kangchenjunga
Kangchenjunga, also spelled Kanchenjunga, Kanchanjanghā (), and Khangchendzonga, is the third highest mountain in the world. This is a list of governors of the Bahamas. The first English settlement in the Bahamas was on Eleuthera. In 1670, the king granted the Bahamas to the lords proprietors of the Province of Carolina, but the islands were left to themselves. The local pirates proclaimed a ' Privateers' Republic' with Edward Teach (''Blackbeard'') as chief magistrate in 1703. In 1717, the Bahamas became a British crown colony, and the pirates were driven out. During the American War of Independence, the Bahamas were briefly occupied by both American and Spanish forces.
