The Twins Effect II
''The Twins Effect II'' is a 2004 Hong Kong action fantasy film directed by Corey Yuen and Patrick Leung. The film is a sequel to ''The Twins Effect'' (2003), but has a completely different story from the first film. It starred Charlene Choi and Gillian Chung of Cantopop duo Twins (group), Twins in the leading roles. Co-stars include Donnie Yen, Daniel Wu, Edison Chen, Wilson Chen, Tony Leung Ka-fai, Qu Ying, Fan Bingbing and Jim Chim. Jackie Chan also makes a cameo appearance, along with his son Jaycee Chan in his acting debut. The film's original English working title was ''The Huadu Chronicles: Blade of the Rose'' and its US DVD release title is ''Blade of Kings''. Plot The film is set in Flower Capital, a land ruled by an evil queen (Qu Ying) who started hating men after her lover, High Priest Wei Liao (Daniel Wu), betrayed her. Corey Yuen
Corey Yuen (; born Ying Gang-ming (殷元奎); 15 February 1951) is a Hong Kong director, film director, producer, action choreographer, and former actor. Yuen was a member of the Peking Opera Schools and one of the Seven Little Fortunes. As an actor, Yuen is perhaps best known as Rubber Legs' student in 1979 kung fu comedy film ''Dance of the Drunk Mantis''. As an action director, Yuen gained fame in American cinema beginning with 1998 film ''Lethal Weapon 4'', followed by the 2000 blockbuster ''X-Men'' and six of Jet Li's American works: ''Romeo Must Die'', ''Kiss of the Dragon'', ''The One'', ''Cradle 2 the Grave'', ''War'', and '' The Expendables''.
