Sacha Guitry
Alexandre-Pierre Georges "Sacha" Guitry (; 21 February 188524 July 1957) was a French stage actor, film actor, director, screenwriter, and playwright of the boulevard theatre. He was the son of a leading French actor, Lucien Guitry, and followed his father into the theatrical profession. He became known for his stage performances, particularly in boulevardier roles. He was also a prolific playwright, writing 115 plays throughout his career. He was married five times, always to rising actresses whose careers he furthered. Probably his best-known wife was Yvonne Printemps to whom he was married between 1919 and 1932. Guitry's plays range from historical dramas to contemporary light comedies. Some have musical scores, by composers including André Messager and Reynaldo Hahn. When silent films became popular Guitry avoided them, finding the lack of spoken dialogue fatal to dramatic impact. Milly Mathis (September 8, 1901 – March 30, 1965) was a French actress who appeared in more than 100 films during her career. Born on September 8, 1901, as Emilienne Pauline Tomasini in Marseilles, France, she made her film debut with a small, uncredited role in the 1927 German film, ''Die Liebe der Jeanne Ney'' (English - ''The Love of Jeanne Ney''). Most of her parts would be in featured or supporting roles. Her final performance would be in a featured role in French film, ''Business'' (1960). She was also an occasional performer on France's legitimate stage. She died on March 30, 1965, in Salon-de-Provence, France, and was buried in the Cimetière Saint-Pierre in Marseilles. Aziza Ali is a Singaporean former chef, food consultant, businessperson, artist, jeweller, and author. She is recognised with opening Singapore's first Malay restaurant, as well as bringing fine Malay dining to the Singaporean public. Early life The second of eight children, Aziza grew up in a kampung situated in Radin Mas, Singapore. Her father, a draughtsman, was a member of the Colombo Plan. Her mother, a housewife, was well-skilled in cooking and Aziza was taught the trade in her childhood. Her sister, Faridah Ali Chang, is now a psychologist. Aziza was educated at CHIJ Saint Theresa's Convent.
