''The Time Bender'' is the first single from the album ''I Am'' by Christian metal band Becoming the Archetype. It was released on August 28, 2012, through Solid State. It was produced by Shane Frisby. Music video The video was released on the band's channel and the record channel on YouTube. The video is filmed on Film noir and makes references to Frank Miller's comic book Sin City and created by Miller himself, also contains dialogue as comic books, and the band looks for their instruments to keep playing, but are hidden in a castle. ''I Am'' is the fifth studio album by the heavy metal band Becoming the Archetype. The album was recorded between May 21 and June 17 and released on September 18, 2012 through Solid State Records. This album is a departure from the previous effort, as Seth Hecox says, "gone are the sitars and horns of Celestial Completion. Instead, we've crafted an album full of the heaviest and most technical songs we've ever written.” It is the first and only release by the band to feature Chris McCane on vocals, Codey Watkins on bass, and Chris Heaton on drums. Guitarist/vocalist Seth Hecox was the only original member from the debut album featured on I Am. Becoming The Archetype
Becoming the Archetype is an American Christian metal band formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1999. They have released five albums on Solid State Records. ''Dichotomy'', which was released in November 2008, sold around 2,300 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen Soundscan. The CD debuted at No. 18 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the top 100 of the ''Billboard'' 200. Technical Death Metal
Technical death metal (also referred to as tech-death) is a musical subgenre of death metal that began and developed in the early- to mid-1990s, with particular focus on challenging, demanding instrumental skill and complex songwriting. Technical experimentation in death metal began in the late 1980s and early 1990s by four bands that are often grouped together as "technical death metal's Big Four" – Death, Pestilence, Atheist, and Cynic – as well as Nocturnus; all but Pestilence being part of the Florida death metal scene.
