"The Stage" is a song by American Heavy metal music, heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold. It was released on 13 October 2016, as the first Single (music), single from their The Stage (album), studio album of the same name. "The Stage" is featured in the video game ''Rock Band 4''s "More Metal Pack 01" downloadable content. The song was nominated at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards for the Grammy Award for Best Rock Song, "Best Rock Song" category. Release ''The Stage'' was released on October 13, 2016, as the lead single for their seventh studio album. Music video The official music video was released to YouTube on October 13, 2016. The video shows a puppet show, depicting humans throughout history killing each other, until the present day, which shows politicians as puppets pulling strings of the crowd. Brian Elwin Haner Jr. (born July 7, 1981), better known by his stage name Synyster Gates or simply Syn, is an American guitarist, best known for being the lead guitarist and backing vocalist of heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold. ''The Stage'' is the seventh studio album by American heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold. It was released on October 28, 2016, through Capitol Records, their first release through the label. It is the first Avenged Sevenfold album to feature drummer Brooks Wackerman, who joined the band in November 2015 but was not revealed as previous drummer Arin Ilejay's official replacement until Ilejay's departure in 2015, because the band wanted to find a drummer that would "fit in".
