Whitesnake

Though the band quickly developed into their own entity, Coverdale is the only constant member throughout their history. Whitesnake enjoyed much success in the UK, Europe and Japan through their early years. Their albums ''Ready an' Willing'', ''Come an' Get It'' and ''Saints & Sinners (Whitesnake album), Saints & Sinners'' all reached the top ten on the UK Albums Chart. By the mid-1980s, however, Coverdale had set his sights on breaking through in North America, where Whitesnake remained largely unknown. With the backing of American label Geffen Records, Whitesnake released their Whitesnake (album), eponymous album in 1987, which became their biggest success to date, selling over eight million copies in the US and spawning the hit singles "Here I Go Again" and "Is This Love (Whitesnake song) ...

The new album "Into the Light" released in 2000 reached #75 on the UK album chart. Background In an interview with ''Classic Rock (magazine), Classic Rock'' magazine in 2000, Coverdale stated: "The whole premise of my new record, ''Into The Light'', is about coming out of what I felt was a dark period... I didn't really know who I was, using the illusion of David Coverdale I've created, or that other people have. I got tired of trying to live up to that, which is not necessarily who I am." "Too ...

''Restless Heart'' is the ninth studio album by English hard rock band Whitesnake, released by EMI on 26 March 1997 in Japan and 26 May in Europe. It was produced by the band's vocalist David Coverdale, and originally conceived as a solo album. However, Coverdale was pressured into releasing the record under the moniker "David Coverdale & Whitesnake" by EMI. Musically ''Restless Heart'' features a more subdued sound compared to Whitesnake's previous two albums. It is also the only full-length Whitesnake studio album to feature guitarist Adrian Vandenberg throughout, despite being a member of the group since 1987. The album received a mixed response from music critics, and only reached number 34 in the group's native UK. In total, ''Restless Heart'' charted in ten countries. With Whitesnake having been dropped by Geffen Records in 1994, ''Restless Heart'' did not receive a North American release, being available only as an import. The album's supporting tour was billed as Whitesna ...

Being the fourth single released from the album, the track reached number 48 on the US Top 100 charts, number 22 on the Mainstream Rock Charts, number 18 in the UK charts, and 49 in New Zealand. Details The single was originally written by singer David Coverdale and guitarist John Sykes, and has been a mainstay in Whitesnake's set-list even to this day, long after Sykes' departure from the band. A music video was also made for the song, and it had the lowest budget out of all the music videos for 1987's ''Whitesnake''. The music video starts with the band flying to the venue and arriving backstage. The rest of the video features the band performing the song on a concert stage at Meadowlands Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey during their 1987 US tour. The music video differs greatly from the others for ''Whitesnake'', as it doesn' ...
